It's almost a little small... I'm hoping as he fills out it will lay right or break in well.

We're heading out in the snow with it today! :D

And just a cute picture from today for good measure.

I've never seen a harness like that before. Let us know how you like it.

It's called an X-back harness, you can't buy them in pet stores because they are a specialty harness made for dogs who pull things like scooters, bikes, sleds, and trikes.

Seems to be comfortable on him so far! We went out and started working on some directions at the end of a leash last night and he did pretty good.

My local pet store actually carries xback harnesses, but none fit Sir quite right, so I went ahead and custom ordered one to make sure it would fit. :)

And that would be why you usually don't see them sold commercially, having three "funky-fit" dogs here I know how it goes (don't even talk to me about finding sweaters for a Dachshund!).

Dang that's a nice one! Seeing photo's of people Skijoring with their dogs right now has me a bit jealous, I don't even have skis that fit! One of these days...*daydreams*

I agree... they have a small selection, and would probably fit Sir better if he was more filled out, fit Recon OK except in length... two long-backed dogs so I will have to custom order theirs, too.

Don't worry, I don't have skis at all! I was hoping to get a sled this winter, but couldn't afford a new one and couldn't get in on any online used sales... so we're training directions now/getting used to pulling with a kid's sled, and we'll start bikjoring/scootering in the spring... I think Sir will be better suited to running in the warmer months anyway. ;)

Thanks!

It definitely seems like a lot of fun... any kind of pulling/joring. I don't see a lot of difference between them all, but I'm sure the more competitive types might?
