Sighthounds?

I have worked with a couple. One was fairly easy going and while not super drivey, pretty easy to work with. The other was pretty obsessed with hunting, to the exclusion of wanting to do much else when outdoors. He was a challenge and it didn't help that his early training was force based. Both were with the same owner and from the same breeder. At local lure coursing, the breed seems to have a reputation for running off or being hard to catch after their runs.

thats about the same experience I've had with them. At many lure courses the whole trial has had to be stopped so that everyone could help catch the PH. They are crazy for the lure though! And they are amazing open field hunters too!

Anyone have much experience with these guys?



I got to meet 4 at a meet the breed thing and they seemed cool, but a little shy. I think they are so neat looking. I've also seen videos of them runnign agility so I was wondering if they were a little bit more biddable than most sighthound breeds? I have always liked sighthounds but I'm not convinced they're for me. If I did get one ever it would be a smaller breed.

We have two of them at my work (Enzo and Prospero). Prospero is way more outgoing, but it took him a bit to come out of his shell. Now he greets me with a wagging tail every day. Enzo is a lot more timid and doesn't seem to want to play much with other dogs though he does really like Cricket. He is very shy and really keeps to himself majority of the time. He has started to come around to me now though and actually ran up to say hi to me the other day which was a complete surprise. Haven't had much experience with the breed outside of my work though so unfortunately can't offer more than my own experience. I really like Prospero though and am definitely intrigued by them.
