I don't have a video camera. I've actually never had a video camera, and just made do with my P&S powershot until it died. Now I make do with my phone when I can but it's been a good 6-8 months since I had a video from an agility trial and it's making me a bit crazy.

The main purpose of it would be for agility trials, so basically I need something with decent resolution that can handle indoor/low light situations as needed. Yet not something so fancy that I am nervous to hand it to someone to tape us!

Help?

I've wondered why we never get videos of your crew doing agility!

I'm not going to be much help at all other than I usually tape for Sara when I go to trials for her and her video camera is super easy to work!

I don't know what your price range is but I just got this one for Christmas and I really like it so far! http://www.amazon.com/Canon-VIXIA-Image-Stabilized-Camcorder/dp/B006UMMPGE

It has a ton of great reviews out there and I'm pretty sure you can find it cheaper than that. It's small, has multiple settings but an auto that works just fine!

This was taken on it the other day in my basement lighting (not good) at night. Also taken at the lowest quality setting.

Also, youtube seems to be having some weird issues and the quality looks degraded.

Oh yes and easy-to-use is another requirement! If it's much more complicated than "Push this button" a lot of trial video end up covering only half the run or the ceiling or...yeah lol.

And yeah for a while I had some video because a friend was rocking awesome and taped a bunch of people and just threw the vids on dropbox for us, but he's kind of between dogs at the moment.

Just looked and it's actually been even longer than I thought---almost a year! Which means Kim was still running, Mira was on her maybe 5th trial ever, and Webster was still retired....!

That one looks great but is unfortunately outside my budget given the excitement of the last month or so. I will look around for deals or sales but it would take quite a drop for me to be able to afford that one I'm afraid! Thank you for the recommendation though.

I would prefer video-only camera to reduce the chance of videographer meltdown at trials :) A lot of people there are not particular tech-savvy and would probably get tense if I handed them that because it doesn't fit into their image of a video recorder even if it is actually easy to use! Thank you though!
