Kastle ran his AD this weekend (12 mile endurance test for IPO). It was perfect weather, overcast, mid-50's, a little breezy. Jason rode the bike for me so I could take some pics. I'm so in love with his structure (and obviously comfortably biased LOL).

Touching the ground is optional

He was a little distracted by Mommy...

And had a bit of an oops LOL

He was such a good boy. They get two breaks and during the breaks, the judge checked his eyeballs, gums, tongue, and paw pads to make sure he was still physically ok with the run. This was the very first time Kastle has ever seen a bike, let alone run next to one. One of the male dogs took a strong interest in Kastle and pretty much stared at him the entire time (whether he was in front or behind), guess the fluffy butt is just too eye-catching! haha

My handsome love

He was pretty excited to see me kneeling in front of him at the end of the run...

The judge even commented on it, silly boy! After this, he had to prove that he was still functional so we had to do very short obedience. Then I made him pose in Jason's hat because...well, it's cute.

This was his first accomplishment to go in his scorebook :) Yay!

He looks GREAT!! So incredibly handsome, especially with Jason's new hat :rofl1:

I'm no conformation expert and feel pretty biased, too, but he looks incredible front to rear. Super balanced, nice reach and drive (and overreach, too!), love seeing that moment of suspension where all four paws are off the ground. That second photo is a great capture.

Great work and congrats to you, Kastle, and Jason!

It's so nice to see a GSD that doesn't have that horrible sloaping back that the American bred ones do.
I think Kastle is nice enough on his own right that no one would need to put down other dogs/types to compliment him?!?

Thanks everyone for the kind words! :D

Thank you for the impromptu critique - I am not any good at that, I just know what appeals to me in the moment, if that makes sense. :) I love watching him move, and I rarely get to see it like this because normally if he's jogging, he's jogging with me haha

Congrats! It looks like the AD was nothing for him. And yes, he is an incredibly handsome dude.
I was a little surprised, he didn't seem to think the AD was much. We did condition him a bit but not anything like a training plan or anything. We're really active people so he gets to go and do a lot of different things. I was still surprised how energetic he was at the end. I also expected a bit of a "hangover" the next day - but nothing. Crazy dog :)

Fantastic job (and fantastic pictures!)! What are the requirements for the AD, is it just the 12 mile test? Is the handler allowed to be on the bike the whole time?
