White socks with skinny jeans

Is that a weird combination? I kind of got into an argument with my friend over it. She's into fashion and looking stylish and I'm not, so I should listen to her, but I just... does it look strange? I mean in a situation like you are at someone's house and you take your shoes off and you have white socks on. She insists that black socks must be worn with skinny jeans if there is any chance that they will be visible.

Opinions?

I don't see the issue .. in fact I've never even thought about it. I wear white socks with skinny jeans all the time.

ETA I don't think I even own a pair of black socks.

I cant say I have ever been that concerned with my sock color.

I am old and non-stylish. Are the socks clean? If yes then it's Ok.

If I were wearing white elsewhere, I'd probably wear white socks. I do match my socks to my outfits.

Lol it helps that my boyfriend does the laundry and leaves them matched in the drawer.

I'm lucky if my socks match. I can't be bothered to worry about COLOR too. Most of my socks are brightly colored.

I usually don't give a rat's tail about the color of my socks - unless I'm for example wearing black tights, and there is a slight chance you can see my socks from my shoes, then Ill wear a dark color. Maybe.
Honestly though my socks rarely even match eachother. I loose so many socks... its not even worth it.

In this part of the country it's considered fine to wear thick wool socks with sandals, so... :dunno:

Some people have too much time on their hands. I can't imagine worrying about my sock colour when getting dressed to go hang out at a friend's house. Dare you to slip on a pair of crocs over your white socks just before going up to her door next time. Better still if the crocs are the bright blue shade.

When we first moved into the house I invited my friend, an interior designer, over for coffee. She was scandalized that the focal point in the living room was my television, not a "conversation grouping" or a work of art. Seriously. She literally gasped. I had two kids, 4 & 10... and her point was???? I bought a print of "Dogs Playing Pool" and put it up the next time she visited. Hubby stopped me from re-arranging the furniture so all would have an unobstructed view (like theatre seating, LOL). Funny thing was I couldn't afford the darned thing on velvet, figured the copy of the velvet painting was a step tackier anyway.

I guess I'm not really into the latest fashion as sock color is a non-issue with me. :rofl1:

I only own white socks lol I hateeeeee black socks. Prob because black fades to ugly grey eventually lmao

Uh, no. White socks with skinny jeans is fine. Maybe, if they're black skinny jeans, you might want to go with black, but unless it's a kind of formal event I don't think it matters. At all.

I mean, if they are thick socks (of any color) you can see with your shoes on I would certainly change them lol but no-show regular socks? who cares. I don't think color is even an issue
If I am comfortable enough around you to be taking my shoes off then who cares.

I don't own regular white socks.. all my socks are a rainbow bright color assortment or black of no-show low socks and to me that is the key.
The only socks that bother me are thick high on the ankle socks because I think they are ugly beyond reason.

Color I don't even notice honestly lol as long as they are clean and low then..I don't really care

Most of my socks are shades of denim in color. I do have some black, red,grey ones, and ones with Halloween & Christmas stuff on them. I try to match my socks to something I'm wearing (thus the denim color, at least they'll match my jeans. LOL My white socks are atheletic ones- for volleyball and wearing shorts in the summer.

I'm wearing skinny jeans (well, jegggings but same dif) and white socks right now. I think it's cute especially if they are ankle socks (which mine unfortunately aren't).

I don't even own white socks, but it's not because I was aware of this rule, lol. I match my socks to my outfit. I have a million different colors, minus white.

My son solved this when he was a teen, he washed all of his white socks with his black jeans and t shirts..everything in one load.
