Cohen's handstand has apparently become Cohen's headstand.

I was always suspicious that her lack of a tail would make this trick extremely difficult for her. I'm not sure if it's THAT that's resulted in her nose squish technique or not. It's pretty ugly, but pretty funny too.

Sorry for the extremely half-assed video. I slapped it together on my phone in a rush.

We're working on building duration a bit. Progress has been SO DAMNED SLOW with this trick. I'm wondering if I faded the wall too quickly, as we've been at this same "bump up quickly into position" phase for months now.

Ok, not gonna lie, really really jealous you've gotten that far. Cohen is doing so good and I love her nose to the ground. Super impressed.

I've just stopped doing anything with it with Traveler because it becomes all he'll offer, back leg lifts and backing up things. I'm afraid to start again. But really, I'm so tickled you guys have gotten this far! It's such a hard trick.

Thanks guys! It's the trick I'm always asked to show people, so I'd like to get it super polished, but I think at this rate it'll take me about 5 more years.

Hahaha! These dogs are all so cute and hilarious! I wonder if the nose touch helps her balance or if she just thinks it's part of the trick. Either way it's super cute.
If you'll notice in her first handstand in the video she's shaking a bit. It's because she was super excited and wagging her tail nubbin so hard it was making her vibrate. :3

I think the nose touch started as balance. When I send her to a wall to do a handstand she'll stand with her forelegs straight.

Super jealous of Cohen's handstand too!! It's looking so good.

Here's what I'm working on with Zuma. A flip without a disc catch. Right now I'm weaning the disc away so while she still gets it as a reward, it's not longer in my cuing hand. I'd like to get it just on a verbal as well, and have to get rid of the spin first.

Cohen's hand/head stand is AMAZING! I want to do it!

Also, Zuma is the cutest thing EVER. She's put together so well, I forget how small she is.

Gah! I just adore Zuma!

Here's some random stuff with Boone:

I completely slacked off with his Heel, so I just played around with it a little tonight to start getting him back in the game of finding the right position.
And I was trying to teach him Frog Legs, but we're kind of stuck with the weird side hop thing. Not sure yet if I'm going to stick with that and make it its own thing or try to shape it into Frog Legs.

Have I mentioned how much I love Boone? Seriously, he just seems like such an awesome dog.

OMG that is VERY amusing! I would have her do that all the time!!
She was offering it in her weaves class last night. Lol. She also tried to handstand on one of the weave poles and got very offended when she kept missing. Thinking dogs are hysterical.

This little dog is so smart & awesome.

I fed him 3 meals by hand and in three short sessions we have the starts of getting in his crate, wait, down, leave it, shake, bow and shaping 101. On day one & two.

Videos very soon!! :D I left my real camera at work & the lighting in the house wasn't sufficient for videoing with my phone.

And he jumped into my arms this morning when I asked him too. Totally going to continue working with that!

Cool! He's looking good! Did you get a video of the independent handstand?? I only saw him on the wall in the 3rd video, hope I didn't miss it!

Unfortunately not, he will do it when we use Jason's legs as the "prop". He understands he should handstand but prefers to not put his feet on Jason so he'll go independent, for about 1-2 seconds. I think his core muscles are not strong enough to do it for too long and very often. We will keep practicing!
