I've also gone the CareCredit route, and have been perfectly pleased with it. You just have to be well aware of the pay-off deadlines, or they will charge you interest out the wazoo. I think with my plan, anything under $300 is 6mos with no interest, and anything $300+ is 12mos with no interest.
There is no annual fee for it.
I highly recommend against ever only paying the minimum monthly payment, though. That's where they get you on the interest. Like I said, it's interest-free before the deadline, but always ASK the vet what that deadline is when you use it.
For example, when Morgan had his blockage surgery a few years ago, we put it on CareCredit. It was about $1500, I think. The minimum monthly payment was something like $6. Yeah... that wasn't going to get paid off by the 12mos interest-free cut-off. lol So we did $1500 divided by 12mos (rounded up) = monthly payment.
