I don't even "do" Greek salad with lettuce in it. I'd have thought they made a mistake if you hadn't said otherwise. Ugh. Once I blended the Greek salad dressing so the oil emulsified and that was weird enough.

Very true!

A couple of places where I've been a "regular" where the owners are actually Greek (one I've known since he first came to the U.S. and was struggling with English) do americanize them by doing a bed of lettuce, but the middle eastern place in Knoxville does the REAL Greek salads.

I would KILL to know where they get their feta, too. It's . . . . WOW.

The lettuce, tomato, cucumber, whatever salad though . . . meh. I'll pass. Even a serving of feta with it can't save it.

Publix is usually pretty great about their salads and such...that is so odd!

I would never trust any salad again lol

I kinda figure if you get a salad at a grocery deli you pretty much get what you get and shouldn't expect anything real, unless it's at a bar and you make it yourself.

It's like going to Taco Bell to get Mexican food.
HEY NOW :p Taco Bell rocks, I'd eat there everyday if I could and if I wouldn't gain 200lbs in a month.

Anyways, I LOVE potato salad and greek salad. But mixed? I don't know. I like some pretty weird food combos, so I might like it lol

I like German potato salad. All the various potato, pasta, and macaroni salads that get brought to picnics and BBQs and such I think are gross. I can handle chicken and shrimp salad in small doses. I think I just don't like my food cold, lol.

Hey now, I love Taco Hell.

Not bad tasting and the cheapest food on the planet (yes, I realize it barely counts as food, I just choose not to care)

It's like Krystals. When you want it, it's really good -- even though, like you said, it barely counts as food, lol.

Krystals are best at 3 in the morning after a night out.

If I take potato salad to something, I usually take Pennsylvania Dutch style and rarely have any to bring home.

But hey, it's potatos . . . with . . . BACON!
This is what my mom makes (she's a native German) and it's SOOOO GOOD! You can't go wrong with bacon.

I don't remember liking the bread. Though I also don't remember liking what was in between the bread, either. :p Fries were good, but I haven't really tasted a fry I didn't like.
