My friend whose animals I take care of when she's out of town, invited me to their home yesterday for their late Thanksgiving dinner. I'd met her dad once when I was there with the animals, but didn't know any of the rest of the family other than her husband. Relaxed, pleasant evening. Her mother came up to me, said, "I don't know who you are, but you are so lovely!" When my friend told her who I was she grabbed me and hugged me, exclaiming, "Renee! I hear so much about you! I'm so glad you're here!"
So, she's invited me to their home for Christmas.
Her dad makes rather good homemade wine from kits he orders. The merlot's quite good, it doesn't have the harshness and edge that merlot so often has.
And her dogs are always glad to see me.
She still has Frost -- still looking for a home for him . . . but I'm hoping he's still there when I watch the animals next month. I <3 Frost. He's just about the perfect Terrier. He'd make an amazing companion and would totally rock at sports, even though he's blind in one eye (from an injury).
