...ugly!

I was going through a few past pictures of Trent to see how he's progressed in his maturity, and when I came across some of them, I laughed and laughed and LAUGHED! :rofl1:

Because I hadn't been around (on Chaz, at least) when Trent was a puppy, I thought I'd share the horror and hilarity. If I thought he was handsome then, and endured his terrible puppy personality, I must have really loved him!

Sure, he was plenty cute as a puppy

But the gangly stage wasn't kind on him (and neither were the neighborhood dogs, but he deserved that).

Who's that pathetic looking thing trailing after the pretty toy dog? Not my dog, that's for sure...

He met Trooper and they endured the Uglies together.

But it was all nothing compared to THIS gremlin bat-eared looking thing, at 10 months of age.

And then this mish mash of spare parts... a few months later.

Trooper wasn't much better off, either

Luckily around 16 months he finally began to look a little like a dog again

At 23 months (prong was me being stupid)

At 2 1/2 years, finally looking put together

Any way, thank goodness for maturity.

Of, you know, the physical sort

Trooper agrees on all counts

I think Trent would appreciate your kindness, especially over my gleeful (and partially mortified) cackling ;)

I'm really glad I took the number of pictures that I did, though! I would have completely forgotten about all those crazy stages otherwise. Sometimes I forget that I didn't bring home a miniature grown, well matured, perfect dog.

I'm odd, I loooove the awkward phase. It's just so gangly. And awkward. He made a very handsome awkward gangly teenager.

Oh shush. He sure ACTED like a 14 year old kid, for about a year and a half. I've earned the privilege! :lol-sign:

LOL Thank you on Trent's behalf :D

The funny thing is that I never thought anything of it then! I figured he was the handsomest dog ever, with a good dose of adorable thrown in. I kept going on about how grown up he had finally become! The gangly look is not a good look for him.

I had originally planned to neuter him right around that teen dog phase, too. I think we both dodged a bullet when I was talked out of it.

lol yeah geek stages are hilarious...in retrospect! When Mira's breeder handed her over she told me to remember what she looks like RIGHT NOW and do not panic for the next two years as chaos erupts. So true lol. Mira was never clumsy but she really did look like a spider monkey for a while lol.

Also, Trent is now one handsome dude.

He's such a stunning dog. And your photography is fantastic. I look at the progression of Trent and I think that maybe there's still hope for Fleetwood, LOL!

I love him, even as a gangly teenager.

It's funny how when you see them every day you don't even realize how much they change and the stages they go through. Sometimes I look back through old pictures and think "THAT... was my dog?"
