My parents already have four grandkids who call them Grandma and Grandpa. So we will stick with that. I am hoping that my in laws are okay with Nana and Papa.

It's Grandma x2 and Pop Pop/Grandpa here. Their actual grandfathers are both dead now, Pop Pop is my mom's boyfriend. I just let them call him that because he doesn't seem to care (and they don't really talk to him either the one week a year that they see him).

My mom wanted to be called Mamie but I guess it never really stuck with my kids...

I call/called my maternal grandparents Nanny (last name), Grandpa (last name) and my step-grandmother Grandma (last name). Since Nanny and Grandma had the last name (Nanny kept married name), it made that distinction between the two.

For my paternal grandparents, it was Nanny (last name), Grandpa (last name), my adopted grandmother is Nanny (first name), adopted grandfather is Grandpa (last name) - - I believe he passed away when I was 2 or so, so that's just how we refer to him now - - and then my step-grandfather was Papa (first name).

So with kids it would probably be something like that, only less grandparents/less confusing LOL

Here's another one: what do/will your kids call their grandparents?

My mom doesn't want to be called Grandma, and hates the typical Nanny, Nana, Granny, etc. type nicknames. My grandmother is "Mimi". My mom is obsessively googling nicknames for grandparents and made a list. So far her favorite is "Kiki".

She got this from Kim Kardashian, it's what her nephew calls her. *slaps forehead*
My husband's parents are "Grandma and Grandpa", though I am guessing at some point "Grandpa" will change to "Pap Pap". (There is some family history associated with "Pap Pap" on that side, but "Grandpa" can't make up his mind which to use yet. lol)

My mom is "Nana", by her request. I'm not really sure why. She just brought it up out of the blue one day.

Growing up, my grandparents were always just Grandma & Grandpa, sometimes with the family name attached at the end to identify which set of grandparents we were talking about.

My dad wants to be called Opa because he is Dutch. Him and my mom aren't together so she wants to be grandma (the dogs know her as grandma too lol). My MIL hates the title grandma so she wants to be called nana. Not sure about my FIL yet. He is pretty easy going though so he hasn't really said anything.

My mom is Nonni to the nieces and nephews, my dad is Boppy. My grandmother (great-gradmother) to the little kids was a Grammy to us kids, but the little kids, and now everyone else, call her Gee.

We think my dad's name came about was my niece confused her dad's name (Bobby) with Granpie and it somehow became Boppy.

My Mother in law is Grammy

And Father in law is GrandDad

I only ever had my Mimi and Pop. I guess I had a Grandma at one point but I don't think I was old enough to call her anything when she passed away. I think my dad wants to be Papa, which is fine with me.

I am still on the fence about what I want to be called. The baby's maternal grandmother wants to be called Grammy, which is what I wanted (my kids called my mom that) but I think since it is her daughters baby she should get first choice. I really didn't like Nana, sounds so old to me, but since that baby is here, Nana doesn't sound so bad to me now. My husband will be grandpa. My sons papa lives with us so I think it would be confusing to have 2 papas living together. Husband and I were bickering the other day and daughter came in and asked us what we wanted the baby to end up calling us and I said grammy and grumpy.

NEVERMIND LOL

in my sleep deprived state I finally realized that you are in fact pregnant and that is most likely why your coat doesn't fit and not just a general vent about non fitting coats.

I'm going to need a new one too. I have a feeling this is going to be a cold winter here and I won't be able to go without one.

I think it's going to be cold here too - and we're both going to be super pregnant in the coldest months of the year. :p I'm trying to decide if I'll be warm enough if I layer a coat under my snowboarding jacket while it's open. I don't think it's gonna work. Hooray for craigslist I guess?

This article really made me laugh lol speaking of baby names

“I cannot handle names that are nickname-y, cutesy, or sound like they’d be on a list of ‘All-American Good Guys and Gals’. Anything that could reliably have been found in the popular kids’ crowd in a high-school movie is out – they’re so cheery and preppy. Charlie, Kerry, Amy, Toby. Don’t those sound like sunny, well-adjusted kids? What if I want my kid to be able to be grumpy sometimes, like Oscar the Grouch? And since you asked, no, I can’t name him Oscar – it got vetoed.”

So ladies (and gents) what was on your pre-nup of NO WAY baby names?
