Yup Still Waiting (Warning for sensitive people or men, graphic pregnancy details)

And I should not be the least bit surprised lol since my other 3 refused to come early too. They liked it so much in there that they all went to 42 weeks and still had to be induced one way or another. I have had membranes striped twice now and still he refuses to make an entry. lol He wants to make a grand entrance I think. We are thinking of writing him an eviction notice but doubt he will listen even if it was court ordered. lol

So for those waiting for little Nico baby pictures you will just have to continue to be patient. We have done good in the mean time though. Since he does have a cleft lip, and there is a chance he might not be able to latch properly for Breast feeding right away, I have been pumping this past week. We now have 5 baggies in the fridge of 1 ounce each of breast milk. So even if he can't latch for a few days he can still have breast milk. Our doctor is very impressed with that.

For this weeks doctors appointment they say I am 1 1/2 cms right now and she was able to stretch me to 2 1/2cms. So hopefully soon. I am also measuring at 40 weeks, though I am just over 39 weeks so they are very happy with how well I have done with my diet and exercise since finding out I had gestational diabetes. I have not gained any weight, like usual, this pregnancy. Instead I have lost a total so far of 15lbs. Happens every time so no concern there.

I have had tons of contractions the past two weeks but nothing that will settle or stay and I have tried a lot of the tricks. Sigh. Will update when we have more info but for now he is comfortable and happy, though I can't say comfortable is the word I would use for myself. lol

HUGS and Vibes and hands you a trampoline............. Maybe he will bounce out ! lol

LOL At this point I might take you up on the trampoline offer. lol Our landlord asked Doug the other day if Nico had been born yet. Doug said no, that he is stubborn and comfy. So our landlord said he would be right over with his tool belt to help get him out since he must be stuck. Typical man. lol Thinks everything can be fixed with tools. lol

Our doula will be taking tons of pictures and videos and so forth. The modest ones I will make sure to share. Will not post any of breast feeding or such. But will post tons of pictures.

FTR, a man only needs two things in his toolbox. WD40 and a roll of duct tape.

If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.

For this instance, perhaps the WD40?

Thank you so much. I am really hoping little Nico follows the same path as his siblings and I can have him naturally. I have never had a C-Section and since we have to drive over 3hours one way, when he is 2 weeks old, to take him to the cleft lip/palette clinic for his 4hour evaluation with the surgeons and specialists I would prefer to not have to do that drive so soon after major surgery. Even having him natural will still make the drive uncomfortable but not in the same way.

Although it was totally against doctor's orders, I was driving on day 6 after my c-section with Cole. I was discharged on ray 4, and he was still in special care (and was for two weeks). I wasn't about to not go see my baby just because no one was available to take me. I even had a drain in my lower abdomen (w/this weird pump thingy) because of the MRSA infection accompanied by the 20 lbs of fluid I had due to preeclampsia (it was...nasty).

With Carson, I was driving on day 7, since that's when Cole got sick with viral encephalitis.

With Cooper, I drove the day after I was released from the hospital, which was day 5.

I'm not saying it wasn't uncomfortable, but I'm not one to sit back and not do things that need to be done, nor have I ever been one to let pain interfere with daily life (I think it's an athlete thing). However, I will say I paid a price, because my incisions opened up once after Cole and once after Cooper, and I was always getting fussed at by the OB for overdoing it (therefore I had some slight bleeding and anemia issues).

Hope its not too much longer! I can't wait to hear all about the new little one, you deserve him so much

Miakoda - my hat is off to you. I know if I have to drive that far even with a c-sextion incision I will. Nico's need to see the specialists is way more important. But I would soooo prefer to not have to. You are defaintely a very strong and determined person.

Nico has been in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm sure he'll do just fine with the surgery. I know the first few months will be nerve-wracking, but just love on him all you can!

Thanks. His surgery will be scheduled for when he is about 3-6 months old. And I know that day I will be a nervous wreck. The idea of my new born son going under scares me to no end but I also know that the younger they do it the faster they heal and also the better they heal with less likely hood of a scar.

The evaluation when he is 2 weeks old is to see the extent of the cleft. Right now it is on his left side and goes up into the left nostril. It was only 4mm on the screen that they could see. They will need to check his gums to make sure he won't need surgery on those later to make sure his teeth come in properly. And the will look to see if there is a cleft palette though at this moment it does not seem so from what they could see. That will be a long day for sure because they say it is usually about a 4 hour evaluation with all the specialists. Luckily, if he is not able to latch, I have a pump that is portable so will be able to pump there during the evaluation so Nico can have his meal.

I know it is all worth it. I just worry about him and he is not even born yet.

I know his has nothing to do with the subject.... But for those who have kids: does pregnancy change your body? (Not meant in an offensive way) I have seen women who seem to horribly lose their "shape" after a baby & there others like a friend of mine whom I hadn't seen in forever that I couldn't even tell she'd been pregnant.

Today we are officially 40 weeks. Yup frustrated. Looks like Nico is taking the same path as his sister and 2 brothers. They all went 42 weeks before coming into the world after membranes being stripped. My third had to have a cream applied to induce him to come. We plan to try the cream in a week and a half. That is the earliest they will try that. On Wednesday they will be stripping my membranes agian. So we will see.

No offence taken. It really depends on the woman. My half sister can have a baby and fit back into her normal sized jeans(she is much smaller then me) in a day or so. I on the other hand take much longer to lose the baby weight. And in some areas I don't. I will always have a slight belly bulge no matter how much exercise and so on. So it really depends on the person.

thats why i dont have kids LOL (I know thats selfish isnt it?) but i couldnt stand to see myself "poochy" as i have an inclination towards that anyway i wear a neoprine sweating belt when i excersise or do yard work just to keep the pooch at bay, i like fitting into my skinny jeans

Why are you inducing????

Especially if you naturally go longer? (as experienced in your previous pregnancies) Inducing when the baby is not ready, if there is no medical emergency is really not a good idea and can lead to problems...ESPECIALLY if you are trying to avoid a c-section, induction greatly increases those.

Actually they consider a pregnancy full term at 38 weeks. Which is how far along I was when they did the first membrane stripping. The reason we wanted him to hopefully come at 38 weeks is because he had measured large at certian times and they were concerned their could be a chance of c-section if he was too large. I have never had one and would prefer to not have one. My other 3 all were born at 42 weeks and that is 2 weeks over the normal 40 week due date. The 40 week due date is different then the 38 to term date. So yes today as I said I am officially 40 weeks. But no one was trying to induce unsafely or asking for trouble. Babies are consider term at 38 weeks.
