or dads/guys too I guess!

How many of you take the time to totally spoil yourself and relax on a regular basis? And what does that 'spoiling yourself' consist of?

For me that is full on lock the bathroom door, light the candles, play some gentle music, soak in a nice bath, and no matter what noises you hear outside the door, you stay focused on relaxing and soaking up the peaceful goodness!

I just realized it's been at LEAST 3 months since I've done it! Yes, I've showered, hahaha, just not a relaxing hot bath with all the above mentioned accessories!

*Think I'll go do that right now!

Maybe a little retail therapy for ME. As in, I go 5 years without ever buying anything like clothes. Or I start mixing the last of every shampoo because I don't want to buy more. Or I never buy anything decorative for the house because it's wasteful. So I cut out the budgeting voice and I go spend $50 or so on things like that.

Starbucks coffee, something I like to eat. Might be chinese take out or just a fast food run.

Lots of stretches/yoga to re-align everything, particularly lower back and hips. I have terrible hip flexors and rarely find the time to stretch everything out, so I always seem to be in pain and stressed out about it.

Long, hot bath. With salts. And possibly bubbles. Dim lights. Locked door. With candles.

Find something nice on Netflix. Paint my nails. Actually use lotion. Put on my fluffy socks. Go to bed drugged on something (Tylenol PM or whatever).

I dont do me time.

I dont have time for me time.

I can think about me when the kids are teens , until then I focus on
Chris/Lucy time. Which is we go out to eat once a month to the chinese buffet , or gasp we spend 20.00 each at the truck stop on video poker.

We dont drink or do other things , I have cut the backstabbers out and now our few friends come to us . We have people over once , twice a week or so . But they are mostly Chris's friends. I dont want close women friends right now , I am still healing and trying to get the knife out from the last bitch.

Every day when they're both asleep and the house is quiet I do some writing. Even if it's only 15 minutes or so.

I wish we had a like button. :) I'm not sure why but I find this awesome.

For "me" time, I generally just lay in bed or in the bath and listen to music. Sometimes I write, and sometimes I just think about things, life, the future, the past.

I get it in the evenings. When the kids were little they never really napped. Now that they are older they are more independent for sure but I of course am "on duty".

I take a bath and read pretty much every evening. Some friends and I also try to get together when we can. We were doing yoga once a week but now that we are loosing sunlight that has stopped.

When my kids were little, after they went to bed, I would grab something to drink and put on my bathing suit (or not) and sit in the hot tub for a long time. Then I would come in, get in my pj's and curl up with a book. I miss those days.

Well I only soaked about 1/2 an hour.......don't know what the problem is but I couldn't get relaxed so I gave up.

I like a little retail therapy now and then too Lyz, I try to keep it to a minimum for obvious reasons, LOL.....baths are generally cheaper!

Me time? I wish. Usually I load up the kids and go for a walk with a friend once a week though. She has a little girl Morgans age and a double jogger so we let them run and then ride when they are tired and we get to talk and what not.

Well my youngest is going to be 13 in about a week..........but I remember when they were all very small! Much more hectic time.

That's where having a good partner comes in. Remember Breeze, being with the kids 24/7 does NOT prove you are a perfect mommy..........as a matter of fact, good mommies know when to let daddies (or grandmas, or friends) take over so they can recharge batteries.

Taking time for yourself makes you a better mommy in the long run :)

Plus, your kids and J can't appreciate you if you don't go away! LOLOL

sadly its not a option for us. When Jeremys home we do errands since he trys to take off when Savannah has to go to the dr and everything.

He goes to work at noon and comes home 1-2 AM 6 days a week. :( Hed love for me to be able to go somewhere alone. When hes home he does most of the work to give me a break.

Yup, I try to get to an agility trial once Saturday a month or so. I always freak out and don't think I have time to do it, but then I manage to squeeze in all my planning and grading on Sunday to make up for it.

I love putting on my essence thing (it's a cone that uses water to steam up and disperse the essence), lighting some candles and putting on some kind of epic piece and just taking it all in.

I love taking a nice long calming walk with the dogs. I LOVE taking afternoon naps whenever I can. And I love curling up on the couch with the dogs and reading.

Everyday lol now I feel kind of spoiled. Ya I guess it is different if you don't have kids kind of lol I feel like, other then school, most of my time is me time lol

But yea, I go to classes in the morning, have work all afternoon, and then get home and do homework. By the time that's all done, I take a LONG shower (to begin "me time") lol do a whole self-grooming routine, make dinner, watch netflix..

In the morning or sometimes in the evening ( I don't do that as much, the park isn't well lit) I like to run :) that's another me time I suppose. It's very relaxing and gets all my stress out.

Once a month I get my hair cut. That's a pretty special me day :) I do it on a sunday..and spend the whole day taking myself on a date! I take myself to brunch, get my hair done, get my nails done sometimes, go see a movie and top it all off with renting a DVD and getting my favorite take-out for dinner

Sadly I have actually gone to the bathroom and sat there for quite a while, till DH comes and asks if I'm ok, then I remember that when the kids are asleep I don't have to rush and go deal with them. Usually during the day I don't get to pee without someone banging on the door for something the second I get in there (same with making a phone call, it'll be silent till I get a 'hello' on the other end of the phone then suddenly both kids are hungry or need me).:rofl1:

No, actually I don't LOL. I go to school and work two jobs, one of which I work on the weekends, too, and by the time I get home I clean, do the dishes, play with the dogs, clean the rat cages and let them out, and then pass out.

I don't have anything overly extravagent that I do. I'm not really in to baths lol

so my "ME" time is settling down with a drink and watching the latest episode of "Pretty Little Liars" or whatever my "Smut du jour" show is hahaha. I love it. Hubby is the best. he gives me a kiss, makes me a drink and says "your show is on. I'll go play a game on the computer. Enjoy your smut" LOL. The computer is right beside me pretty much lol so he hears all my GASP, NOOOOOO, SHOCK, AWWWWW, YOU BITCH lol.

I also get "Me" time at the homeschool co ops. We have three periods and you are in a class for 1 or 2 but never THREE of those periods and that's why we have the moms room. complete with coffee, tea, snacks and almost always ... chocolate lol. it's great. you sit around and snack and chat with the other ladies. no kids in the moms room so it's just the ladies and lots of laughter and good times.

Hubby and Hannah also go on "dates". Hannah loves these times. They go out to eat (usually the diner or Chick Fil A... both favorites of Hannahs) and then usually he takes her somewhere and buys her a present HAHAHA if it's light out they will go to a park and play or do something else fun and usually during those times I am home watching my smut shows LOL and horizontal on the couch

I might watch some TV, play a video game, or read after kids go to bed. But ideal "me" time, as in actually getting away from the house for myself? Not very often. Almost everything I do involves the kids somehow, even if I go shopping...I go shopping for them. Tomorrow my neighbor and I may have "mommy" time and actually go out shopping for OURSELVES. That doesn't happen very often, but we both really need some new jeans.

Occasionally my neighbor and I will go out to a movie, but we haven't done that in many months. And even then it's usually a late movie after the kids go to bed.

I so envy people who have the opportunity for "me" time--my reality is that is very rare if ever.
I do try to find time to paint, but that too is limited because I really can't enjoy it if it is in small time increments--when I paint or draw, I want to get lost in the process... to loose touch with time and just be enveloped in the process.

I also have to take what moments we can steal for husband/wife time. Without that time to connect with each other, well--life would be pretty rough.

I am lucky because Hannah thrives on schedule and she has a hard 8 pm bedtime lol. Now nights like tonight where we have a little campfire and play music and such she gets to stay up late but most of the time we start the "get ready for bed" process at 7:30 and after story and prayer and back "tickles" (she gets that from me lol i lightly run my fingers up and down her back. It is such a relaxing feeling) and by 8 she is tucked in and falling asleep. That leaves me two hours or more of adult time each night.
