Quinn just came into heat and while she tries to keep herself clean she is bleeding a lot. I bought her diapers from a pet store in town but they're awful - they fit her terribly. Even adjusted as far up on her back as they go, after only a few minutes they've slid back on her hips and are really tight and restricting. She just got up after lying down awhile and couldn't even bring one of her hind legs forward.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to buy online. Quinn is long backed and small waisted. Not sure if it's just this style but they want to slide down her hips.

Thanks in advance!

I really like the look of the Hurtta panties and Euro Dog Designs had some the last time I checked. I accidentally got the wrong size and before I was able to send them back DH accidentally threw the box they were in out, so we haven't gotten a chance to try them unfortunately. :(

I made my own as none ever quite fit right.

I've never understood why they don't offer them in plain colors. :p
Cause if my dog needs to wear something on her butt it might as well be decorative :D

Leah has thong style ones for her dobes that she swears by.
She probably uses these then:

They look like this:

lol

I borrowed that pair from a friend for Mira's first heat since I didn't have anything on hand the first couple days and we were staying in a place where a stray drop of blood was not an option. They seem comfortable. The ones I made for her are of similar design but without the whole flashy shinyness which annoyed me lol.

Thank you all so much! I like the thong styled ones - they look like they're a bit of a higher rise and do up further on her, so maybe less likely to slip back. Poor girl!

I do love the floral patterns Seasonals has - so freaking cute! Q would totally be getting the brown floral.

One trick is to get panties you can easily see. At least for me it's waaay too easy to open the door and release the dog outside for potty time and forget the panties are there if they blend in. Mira's are black with a faint pattern and while we never had an incident in her last heat we had a few near-misses...I'd let her out to go potty then suddenly remember the panties and yell Mira! Wait! and she'd (thankfully) freeze on her way to her potty spot and I'd take them off. Yeesh.

Oh if you only knew how many times I've done that and didn't realize until it was too late.

On a side note I strongly recommend buying human panty liners to use in whatever brand you buy rather than the "dog" ones you get from pet stores. I hate those things more than I hate having to buy panty liners as a guy. Oh, also, for any guy reading this? Try not to make yourself look stupid by accidentally blurting out to the person at the register that they're for your dog. Not that I've done that.

:rofl1:

I didn't even know they make dog ones. Sorta already had the human ones on hand so just used those.

I bet the folks in line with you had interesting conversations that night lol

I bought some locally made ones from Sojourner Farms. They work really well with Amber and I just used the regular women liners.
