We've got a little sport mix puppy at our house for a bit. He and another, adult male were purchased for a working dog program. The older guy, Sparky, is doing very well and thriving. This little guy, who I've decided to call Jones, was completely overwhelmed and more or less shut down. Jason brought him home for me to work with as the more sensitive/soft dogs tend to thrive with me (no idea why, so it's not on purpose). He will probably be placed in a home with a little girl. I'm just getting some house manners on him and also evaluating him overall.

Anyway, I have him kenneled away from the rest of the group (b/c they're obnoxious around feeding/pottying/exercising/training times...ok, they're obnoxious when awake LOL). He met Eden first but it was dark so no pics. We always introduce new pets/fosters/visitors to Eden first. She can always, without fail, get them to play with her and relax.

Then he met Finny, who is a wonderful and polite playmate.

Then, I decided to see what would happen with Limit. Limit is NOT wonderful or polite LOL I wanted to also get a read on what Limit would do with a strange, intact, male dog in his backyard (and yes, I was prepared if he was a jerk). Luckily, he wasn't. I was very pleased with how Jones opened up and how he handled Limit and very pleased with Limit's overall behavior. The older he gets, the "nicer" and more tolerant he gets. Thank goodness as he can be a bit of a handful!

These three are of a size, which bums me out. Finn is 10 months, Jones is 7 months and Limit is only 4 months old - why is he so big?!

Sharing the Lixit

Limit is teething and looks all sorts of ridiculous...

The company that bought him thinks he might be a little too soft/young for the kennel/working environment. I told them that if they wait for him to grow up I think he'll be fine. He's got decent nerve, decent drive, very social...he did charge Kastle last night but I made it crystal clear that Kastle was MINE therefore no one was allowed to touch him. He was fine with that by the time we all headed back inside. He's smart and very sweet. He *loves* Finny.

Is that a Lisa Maze dog? Great photos! I have puppy fever and your house looks dreamy. Lol
Nope, but it is a relative. His grandsire is the brother to Lisa's Gooey - the company also bought the grandsire. He's doing fairly well but is an adult and better equipped to deal with that atmosphere.

We are puppy central right now and it is anything but dreamy! ;) LOL Nah, they're a bunch of fun dogs and they've all got personality to spare!

There is way too much cute in those pictures. I am in love with Limit.

What kind of mix is Jones?
Limit is the devil. Seriously. I adore him to no end but he is one little stinker head!

Jones is Border Terrier/Border Collie/Malinois in varying percentages.
