I've asked this question before, but I like updates ;)

I would say, of ALL the animals I share my life with, Maggie is definitely my favorite. I love the horses and the cats (and my fish, but he's not really a contender lol,) but I just really, REALLY adore Maggie :)

Though if past pets count, my rat Brutus was hands down the best animal that I could ever hope to know. I loved him more than anything, and I had a bond with him that I didn't know was possible.

So, how about you guys?

I've never had a bond with an animal like the one I have with Elsie. There are times it sort of scares me how amazing she is, and it's made me sort of confront how fragile life is, as terrible/cheesy that is.

I think my answer is different in each of these kinda of threads. It's so difficult to answer.

I love all of my dogs, and there are different things that each one of them does that can make them the favourite on any given day. They all do things that bug me sometimes, but they all also have qualities that make me thing "wow, you're a really great dog". And they all have days where I think they're all the best dog in the world.

But if I had to pick and choose, as much as it makes me feel bad to say it, I think it will be very difficult to find another dog ever that I feel as strongly about as I do Dance. I thought the world of Tango, and in many ways she was my favourite and the one I thought no other dog would ever surpass, but there are days when I think Dance might have done it. Which I feel needlessly guilty about. But when it comes right down to it, and I think about both Dance and Tango, they're pretty equally my favourites just for different reasons. Those two are the dogs that I sometimes unfairly expect any other dog that enters my life to be like. There was/is just something about both that was a little extra. I have a totally different connection with Dance and had a totally different connection with Tango that is just not quite there with my other current dogs or other past dogs.

So if we're talking about pets that are here and now, then Dance is definitely the favourite. But I try not to treat her as such. I love my bratty Dobers too! And when Dance is being particularly obnoxious, Keira and Ripley get their turns at being the day's favourite too, haha.

I appreciate both my dogs very much for very different reasons. I really love them as a pair, they balance each other out very nicely. Summer is my sensible, steadfast girl with a heart of pure gold. Mia is my little gremlin that reminds me to laugh as much as possible and love life.

Mia, however, is just plain MY dog in a way no other dogs have been. I don't really know the proper way to explain. We're just made for each other.

Juno is my favorite of the dogs, but she is mine and Lucy is not. So that is logical lol. But she is still not even close to the awesomeness that was Molly.

Daisy is the love of my life. No other dog will ever even come close. I am just so lucky that I finally found a boyfriend who isn't jealous of her, lol.

Seriously, I'm like unreasonably upset that I just found a bad molar on her - the thought of putting her under terrifies me, even though I work for my vet & we put geriatric dogs under frequently and theyre always FINE.

Suzie is MY dog. At least she sure seems to think so :p Jack is still in his stupid puppy stage, but I already love him so much. He's just such a good dog. I'm horrible with favorites though. I don't even have a favorite sibling, I love them all for all different sorts of reasons.

Well, before Didgie I would have said Traveler without a doubt. And that's still true but I gotta say, Didgie is right up there with Traveler. They're so different but so similar that I don't think I have a favorite between them. Especially as Didgie is getting older and we're bonding more and more.

I mean, Traveler is my boy and we've been thick as thieves from day one and we know eachother more than I know Didgie yet. But I can only see that growing and evolving.

I love Kaylee, but she and I clash terribly. She makes me laugh, she makes me smile and she is a never ending quirk. But we butt heads allll the time.

I dont have a favourite between species, but I have favourites of the ferrets.

Rosey's my only dog so thats easy. She's my heart and my best friend and I can't imagine her not being here.... likely becaushe she has always been here, i have no memories of before she was here.

Rascal wad my favourite ferret, and always will be. No ferret will ever come close. Of the three I have now, I usually say Harley but I don't know, I think Ella is up there. She's pretty **** close to being as perfect as Rascal.

I don't feel bad though... they all get my attention and one on one time with me. They all have their people too... Harley is my dad's favourite and is my dad's girl through and through. The love he has for her is crazy. Renegade is my brother's favourite, and will always be his buddy.

Not really. Boston was something special, and probably comes as close to a "favorite" as any animal could.

I call Meg my heart dog. I wouldn't have thought any other dog could come close to our connection. And it is different with Gusto - he's a big part of my heart, too. Just a different part of the heart. To steal from Laurelin, and then to mutilate her words a bit - Meg is my heart, Gusto is my spirit.

Tristan is my ulcer.

Obviously, Jackson is MY only dog... so he's my favorite. But I've had other pets in my life and currently have other dogs who I am close to (i.e. my dads dogs, whom I see weekly and live with part-time) and I also had a GSD growing up that for all intensive purposes was all mine (besides the financial part obviously, I was young) who I was VERY close to.

But nothing compares to Jackson. I am just so lucky I ended up with a dog like him. Him and I click VERY well and have since the first day I brought him home. I can't picture myself ever loving another dog quite as much. Maybe I will as much, but not the SAME if that makes sense.

Always has been the Lily bug, always will be the Lily bug.

I've been lucky to have some amazing kitties in my life so far. I can't pick a favorite.

Hands down Beau is the best thing that EVER happened to me. He's my learning dog, and my first dog that was TRULY MY dog. I love him with all my heart and soul.

I love Takoda, and Moe too. But Beau is just Beau. I'm not complete without him.....

Blackie was my best boy and I really miss him, two years later. And Casey was my best girl. I still miss her, too.

There is no question that Squash is my favorite. I felt guilty about it for a long time but I can finally admit it. :p

If we are talking about all the dogs we've ever had, then my old girl Roxy.

My favorite is absolutely Jack. I love and adore Missy, but our personalities don't really mesh well, and she highly prefers my mom over me.
