Grrrrr...my computer is on the fritz. It won't turn on and it won't turn off... First, it wouldn't power on and my son "fixed" it so it did. But then there were no icons on the bottom and no start button. So, I tried to turn it off by the power button and it wouldn't!!! :wall: LOL. So, I unplugged it and the rare post I post is done on my cell phone, which is ridiculous. I hate auto spell on that thing. I happen to be at my daughter's today for a short time...on my way to the airport to pick up my ex from his trip to Czech Republic.

So, who knows when I'll get that thing fixed? You may wind up being blessed by a low post count from yours truly. :p

Sounds like maybe it's time for a replacement.
Yeah...maybe. Sometimes it costs nearly as much when you take it to the fix-it man. Maybe a lap top this time. However, I've gone so far over budget on my landscaping project that I hesitate to spend that on a new computer.

Okay...off I go to Seatac...

I went to WegenerMedia.com for my refurb, but they only deal in Macs. I was able to score a MacBook with the new power pack, a huge memory upgrade and a couple other significant tweaks for $600 though (thanks to my fantastic CPA friend who took care of my taxes).

They have desktops for under $100.

Some of the PC laptops have gotten really cheap though. They're basically disposables, meant to work for a year or two and get tossed. Netbooks are REALLY cheap.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I'll look at those sites when I get a chance. Oh and when the Comcast guy was here he wrote down the name of a cheap place to get computers. Now if I can remember where I put that. Lol. Thanks a lot. I am not computer savvy...don't need too fancy.

Yay! I've ordered from them many times, but the Canadian division. Great computers and cheap super fast shipping. Never had a problem.
