Well, we're moving at the end of this month! We live in MI currently (I have all of my life) and we are moving to Knoxville. I need a new vet, new hairdresser, new Dr, new Dentist, new herding isntructor, new agility instructor, new flyball team etc etc etc. I think I know a place for agility and a place for flyball but I am at a loss for the rest. I also am going to miss, so so so so bad, the hidey places I know I can bring the dogs to run off leash, to train obedience and to swim. Any advice??

I'm in the Nashville area so no help, but maybe one day when I finally get my license we could meet up! I've never met a Chazzer!

I know, THAT's the hardest part... all you can do is explore. :) Scope out forest preserves on Google maps, look for large patches of woods, etc. It does kinda suck having to find those little niches again but you will.

Hey! I'm just northeast of Knoxville, about 40 minutes! Hopefully before too much longer I'll be back working in Knoxville.

Agri-Feed and Pet Supply on Middlebrook Pike is a great source for dog supplies and finding out what's going on, dog-activity wise.

Oh, and you're going to be in the midst of all sorts of lakes and rivers.

The Smoky Mountain Dock Dogs looks like they practice in Maryville, which kind of runs into Knoxville just south of the city limits. Knoxville is sprawled out over a lot of territory though, so commute times vary according to where you're going to be. West Knoxville is a nightmare.

Welcome to TN! I live north of Nashville. What town in Knoxville (area) are you moving to? We've been thinking of moving out that way one day.

I guess I need to check out Tennessee. You're not the only one I know who has moved from MI to TN. It must be nice down there. ;)

We've got a HUGE population of Michiganites, lol. Lots of them have first moved to Florida, then decided to move halfway back north -- they're known as "halfbacks." :D

My friend, Dina, that I dogsit for is from Michigan.

Same on this end, Barb. Knoxville has brought in a lot of diverse people as the IT and advertising/film industry grows, and Sevier County pulls a lot, too; it's beautiful and the property taxes are LOW -- I think they may be the lowest in TN.
