My mom, grandma and I went to BC last week for a summer vacation and took Aura (grandma's Tibetan Spaniel) and Dance with us. It was the doggiest vacation I've ever had and it was great! I had so much fun. We met some Coolies and their breeder (she calls them German Coolies), which was excellent. I'd never met the breed before so really enjoyed that. I also met the best Toller breeder ever and had a fantastic visit with her and her dogs. It was the nicest, most relaxed and informative breeder visit I've ever had. And before I met either of those people, SkKi and Nbc0 came all the way down from where they live to meet Dance and I with Pit, Holden and Zero. They were so nice and their boys are all great. I loved them. I only wish we could have hung out longer but they had a long drive home and it was getting very hot for all of our poor hairy dogs. I hope they got better pictures than I did, though. I totally failed my camera that day and kept forgetting to change settings and things. Oops! Good thing there were two other cameras there. One of us must have a nice group picture and I know it's not me haha.

Other than that, we also went to different beaches and took Dance swimming a lot. She loved the lake and would probably be much more of a water dog if we had more lakes around here rather than creeks and rivers. She didn't like it when we got in the water though and got a little frantic about it for a bit. Squeaking, pacing, jumping in and circling us so we'd go back to shore. She was sure we needed rescuing or something. But she relaxed a bit after a little while. She was also pretty perfect the whole time we were away. Showed off her polite manners and obedience skills for people downtown in city park, only barked a few people the entire time we were away but was otherwise good at ignoring people or even being friendly right away. The worst and only bad thing she did was get into the disgusting cat food at our friend's house. Oh, and she tried to chase the cats once she realized they weren't scary. But only if they moved fast, and thankfully she has a good leave it! But other than that she had a blast. She was so happy and full of enthusiasm and joy.

Anyhow, onto the pictures! There are hundreds so I will narrow them down as much as possible. :)

Dance thought the boys were gross and wouldn't play with them, so this is the only shot I think I got of her with anyone else haha.

Not a good quality picture but I love Dance's prissy "ew, gross, slimy rocks!" face...

Lots more!

Holden laid in the grass waiting for a friend to pounce on. Nobody wanted to play with him though. Poor guy.

Meanwhile, Pit was happily chasing grasshoppers...

More!

My poor, somewhat rescued group shot...

After we were finished, we drove by Kalamalka lake (which is often shades of pretty greens, teals and turquoise but not this day) and posed Dance on a dock.

Aura basking in the sun at the house...

Plenty more!

My lens was too long and I couldn't back up any further without falling into the lake, but here is Dance posing with a the sails statue in Kelowna.

And with the Ogopogo statue (Ogopogo is kind of Canada's Loch Ness Monster).

Dance says "um, why is the ground wiggling?"..

Yep, still a lot more...

We went for a walk up a mountain one day and came across a Bald Eagle..

Okanagan lake is so pretty and clear.

Still some more!

That's all of them! There are way too many to choose from and I probably still went overboard haha. But hopefully some of you stuck through!

DANCE DANCE DANCE. I LOVE her. I'm so jealous -- amazing photos, freakin' amazing scenery. Awesome dogs. I'm not a Pekinese person at all, but that is one CUTE Peke (is that what she is?) Fantastic pictures.

Thanks! We had such a great time and I am so glad Dance got to come along and that I got to meet so many great dog people. Dance is a little smaller than Pit, but I think she's slouching in that picture. Their boys are all very deceiving in pictures. Holden is smaller than the average male Berner, and Zero apparently is quite big for a Samoyed (he's the first one I've ever met so I didn't know that until they pointed that out) and Pit is pretty normal for a male Toller although SkKi thinks he's a giant haha.

THERE CAN NEVER BE TOO MANY DANCE PICTURES.

So very jealous you got to meet Holden.
That's pretty much what I thought! Which is why there are so many. She's so easy to get pictures of that it's hard to choose just a few to post.

Holden is such a nice guy. Except he eats gross things so it's his fault we couldn't walk through the forest further, haha. But he was adorable and so goofy.

Thank you!

Thanks! Aura is actually a Tibetan Spaniel... sorta like a sports model version of a Peke. ;-)

Ok, maybe not quite, but that's what she reminds me of.

She's a fun little dog. Game for pretty much anything, keeps up really well, and is very sweet and thinks everyone is her friend. But she is quite the snarky, high on herself little thing with other dogs as she gets older. But that's not a Tibbie thing - just an Aura thing. She's always been pushy with other dogs since the day my grandma brought her home, and now she's even pushier.

OH YAY! Look at you being 300x more productive than I by having all your pictures edited and ready right away. So strange seeing pictures of my dogs on here that I didn't take, ha ha. Love them all!

Pit is a giant, I swear! The last time I was at a toller walk I could spot my dog in the sea of orange because he stood taller than 90% of the dogs - and he was 11 months old!

And that spaniel is ridiculously cute.

I know! It was so weird seeing somebody else post Dance pictures too.

I decided I might as well get mine all done right away as I knew I wouldn't get to them otherwise until probably this weekend, if that. But I'm glad my quick posting got you to quit being a slacker, haha. I got home and was all excited to see your pictures and then found out they weren't up!

And maybe Calgary is just full of giant Tollers. All the more reason Pit should have come home with me! He would have fit right in.

Yah!! Love the pictures, now you just have to come visit me!! I'm not that far off!!
One day I am sure! All of these Chaz meets I'd love to do would be so much easier if I had my own car.

Great pictures. And please, there's no such thing as too many pics. ;) I just love Dance, she's so stunning. All the other dogs are cute too. :)
Thanks! :)

Oh Dear, time to come out of the shadows. It looks as though i'm going to have to make a thread to show the pictures I got of our visit with you! It was so much fun meeting Dance and you and I know our boys enjoyed it (even to Dance's dismay).

Gorgeous photos as always. Thanks to SkKi i've been up to date with all your photos :)

Gorgeous photos, the ones of Pit chasing a grasshopper, and the ones of Dance and Aura on their own are stunning! What a beautiful place to visit, the water looks so blue. Looks like a fantastic trip all around, so jealous that you three got to have a little meet up.

I skimmed the first part of your post (was more in the mindset of "OOH PICTURES MUST GET TO THE PICTURES") and overlooked her breed, so when I saw Aura my first thought was that d@mn, if she wasn't the BEST looking Pekingese I had ever seen anywhere. The fact that she's a Tibetan Spaniel might explain it :rofl1: (not a knock on Pekes, they're one of my favorite smalldog breeds, actually).
