Toy breed owners...

I think that I'm going to try rotating Meg's food around a bit. She's had good luck on EVO small bites turkey and chicken but I want to find another protein source at least. I know EVO has a red meat small bites, but I was hoping to try another brand this time.

The problem is that I can't seem to find another grain-free product with smaller bites with another protein source. For example, I was looking at Wellness Core and they had a smaller breed size but with the same protein source.

My questions is (finally) does the kibble size matter? Meg is about 7.5 lbs and she's been used to the same food for quite a while so I'm just shy about changing.

Any suggestions?? Thanks!!!

Honestly? My friends 4 and 6lb yorkies eat Acana just fine. And I wouldn't say that's a "small" kibble. By kibble standards, it's on the larger end.

Jackson is 16lbs and prefers large kibble and usually spits out smaller bites.

But if you're looking for tiny and grain-free, Fromm is an excellent choice. I've never seen such small dog kibble. The grain free varieties are like ferret kibble, LOL.

Acana is one of the brands I was looking at, so thank you! I'm probably just over-thinking it. I should give as much attention to my own food, lol.

Fromm is tiny, Natures Variety is too I think. I don't think kibble size really matters, some dogs might mind but you could just try bigger kibbles and see how it goes - make sure the store has a good return policy, just in case Lucy is about 10-11lbs and her kibble is bigger than Juno's, but she has no issue eating it and has eaten bigger kibbles since she was a puppy.

My 8lb Toy Poodle has no problem eating Earthborn's GF formulas, and has eaten large sized kibble before with no problem.

Cooper and Gracie (6 pounds and 11 pounds) eat "normal dog food" just fine. It's not small bites, but it isn't huge kibble, either. No issues with it.

I've never bothered with small bite anything. I want them using their teeth.

Yeah we've always fed whatever and they've done fine.

Acana doesn't have a horrible kibble size. Pacifica, at least, is flat and round.

Fromm is absolutely tiny, though. It usually ends up my dog's noses, with much snorting, sneezing, hacking and confusion to follow. It's a wonderful food, though.

I feed Merrick's Grain free (Used to be called Before Grain) just fine. Tango will eat just about anything as long as he agrees with the protein source lol. He adores the duck formula.
