I haven't looked at petfinder in a long time... because I'm not ready for another dog yet, and also because I'm pretty sure my next dog will be from a breeder.

However... OMG MAJOR WANT. And he's in Maryland.

Meet Why! He is a high energy, playful young boy, with the sweetest face and markings. Why is a one year old black tri male mini aussie, standing 15 inches tall and weighing 20 pounds. He is one great dog! He knows most of his basic commands like come, sit and stay and enjoys a good game of fetch. He is housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Hes great with dogs, cats, and also horses. Hes a very playful fellow and loves to jump up high! He is a friendly little cuddle bug that will warm your heart! Why is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. He is being fostered in MD.

And then look at this cute guy:

That's okay. I'm on a waiting list for a working bred ACD puppy for 2013 or 14, I have a meet and greet set up with http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/23148417 her if she is still available in October...

And yet, I find him at HERD of Wyoming... Who is exactly what I am looking for in a dog. Put in an application a few days ago.

And then there was that BC I posted about earlier this month. It kills all of us who dare to enter. Between rescue sites, petfinder, and CraigsList we are doomed.

It's been a long time since I've been tempted by anything on petfinder. I've seen cute things, mind you, but none that I've really wanted. That's what happens when you have an exhausting elderly dog, I think, lol.

The last one I loved was this little white poodle (mix, I think) who had blue eyes and the brightest pink nose I've ever seen. He was sooo cute.

I'm on the edge of seeking out to foster this girl..being euthanized tomorrow with no interest...gahhh. I'm going away next week and the rest of the household is on vacation now so I can't do it without at least their consent...it's really not a good time. I just feel so bad for them, it's unfair that dogs like this would be snapped up in an instant up here and are last to be adopted down south.

I actually don't have any petfinder wants at the moment. Which I suppose is a good thing, because I have no business getting another dog right now. Much easier to resist the temptation when I'm not pining after a certain dog at the shelter. LOL

I always tend to have a soft spot for the shepherds and the special needs dogs in shelters. Acckkk.

This beautiful Male is 8 years old (I do have a soft spot for the extremes, the oldies and the youngins) and is AKC registered. :O He is a beauty. His name is Ice. If I lived on my own and Crystal didn't have fear aggression of larger dogs, I would totally adopt him.

This is Radar. After an unfortunate situation with my own GSD x Malamute mix, I will always have a soft spot for their personality. They have the perfect GSD alertness, but have a goofy factor to them < 3

Those are probably my two favorites right now. I feel for all the dogs in shelters, I wonder how they feel being locked up in a kennel all day!

LOL - terrible. Now is sooo not the time for another dog. And I have two other breeds in mind first, but this guy just seems to be tugging at my heart strings.
Hey I was on the waiting list for a litter on the ground...deposit paid...when I met Webster. Sometimes things just click. Best decision ever.

But if you're not ready for dog #2 right now that's a whole different ball game.

I know I've told this story before, but once we were looking at Petfinder at work (a common lunchtime pastime at my workplace) and found a dog that looked exactly like a short-haired Pip. So I printed his picture to show my husband, not because I wanted the dog but because I thought it was kind of cool. This was the conversation we had:

Me: Look at this dog! It looks like Pip with short hair!
Him: We're not getting that dog.
Me: I don't want that dog, we were just looking at Petfinder at work and I just thought it was cool.
Him: Why can't you people look at porn at work like normal people?
Me: Petfinder IS our porn!

The moral of the story is: Petfinder = evil.

I must've missed that story before because it's new to me... :rofl1:

However Petfinder = Kim therefore Petfinder <> Evil.

Just cleverly naughty.

Definitely a grand decision - Webster is the best.

Yeah, I would say it's a bad time to add dog #2. I'm at the point where I'm still living at home with the 'rents but am hoping to be moved out within a year, or two at the most. In between figuring out what exactly to do with my life. I think it's just a bad time. I know if a dog happened upon me, I'd make it work. But it's really just a stupid time.

**** you petfinder.
