I said not to call her an APBT puppy because she is not a registered purebred from a respected breeder. You don't KNOW that she IS an APBT.

And now that I've seen her parents and neither look like APBTs... I stand by my original statement.

I'm not trying to insult your dog... she's not a lesser dog, by any means. It's just that with the state the breed is in, and being banned across the world... correctly labeling a dog is VERY important.

My vote is that you have a mutt. I would hesitate to call her a mix even with Mom's papers because honestly... she doesn't quite look 100% pit herself. Paperhanging on pits and their mixes is nothing new.

Nothing wrong with having a mutt. She is what she is.

IMHO Momma's a pit, but Daddy and Jr look the same, don't know what breed that is though

I don't know bully breeds well enough to guess, but oh my god the grandpa of your pup is GORGEOUS. What a head on him.

Your puppy is also pretty dang cute too.

Wouldn't the girl that bred him have some info on what dogs could potentially be in dads background or is she just breeding on the assumption and apparent test results that the dad is an APBT?

Apparently she spent money on some sort of test but didn't bother to get some sort of lineage or background on him. Sounds kind of fishy.

Dad looks to me like he has some type of mastiff influence.

Neither dog is APBT. Dad's dad isn't either.
Yeah, agree there.

Sounds like this "breeder" is just giving you a run around. Does your dog have papers? If not, just call her a mutt. Or a Pit Bull mix. Whatever floats your boat. Nothing wrong with mutts, I have two of them!

The grandfather looks like your typical American Bully. Dad looks like one too. Definitely not purebred APBT's. Blood work means nothing, especially if it was one of those silly DNA tests.

I agree, the grandsire is definitely an American Bully and not an APBT. The sire is way too big to be an APBT and also shows a lot of bully characteristics. Mom looks like a mix to me too.

You can put papers on just about anything and I don't know what 'test' the lady is talking about. My guess is she's just giving the run around.

Really goes to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. LOL

Looks like a typical AmBully. Mom looks like a pet bred pit bull mix of some sort.

No doubt, eh?

I mean, typically I prefer the more 'gamedog' type pitbulls (if my terminology is off, sorry) but his head just looks so smooshable. I wouldn't get one, but so cute.

gamedogs can only properly be called that if proven game in the box. the best descriptor is pit bulldog as it defines type more than actual function.

dad's dad may have papers hung on him to say he's APBT, i'm sure the owner brags about gotti, razor's edge or greyline. it is a well known fact (admitted even w/ gotti/razor's edge) that all those lines are based on neapolitan mastiff crosses.

There is no test that tells you the breed of a dog. There are "DNA breed tests" on the market that have been proven to NOT be accurate, and they don't even have APBT as one of the breeds they identify.

The grandsire is definitely Am Bully.

I would call Precious an Am Bully mix. Or just a mix.
