Mia's gotten her kong stuck on her bottom jaw a couple times lately and she SCREAMS. Would you get a bigger one so that maybe it would be looser if sticks her muzzle in it? I don't think they make a smaller one. It's been fixable, not anything serious but it startles her and takes her a few seconds to get the kong un-stuck. It has me worried some day she won't be able to get it off her jaw as easily. I never give them kongs while I'm gone though, always supervise.

I'd go bigger then. It's not worth that trauma. Haven you considered kong-like toys instead?
I've seen some toys that are kong looking that would probably work if you wanted to go a little smaller.

If not I'd go bigger. Especially since it's happened a couple times I'd just get something else to use before it happens again.

Have any suggestions on specific toys? We have a couple puzzle toys right now but nothing kong-like.

I know they make Kong balls, out of the same material, would she prefer something like that, or are you looking for one to stuff?

Yeah I'm looking for something to stuff and freeze. Frozen stuffed toys seem to keep her occupied the longest.

I'm not sure what they are called or if they have a name but I know I've seen some that are Kongish in shape or the little ones the look like fire hydrants that come in all different sizes and I know a few are smaller than the smallest Kongs I've seen. They do have the hole in them so they can be stuffed.

I'd go up or down a size. My dogs can't fit their jaws inside the Kong in any way, all they can do is lick.

I didn't think she could because the hole looks a lot smaller than her muzzle but she can get that bottom jaw in trying to scrape out food.

Maybe the Planet Dog one would have a better version for her.

FWIW the Planet Dog ones are a bit softer with a bit more "give" than a Kong. I'm torn whether I think that would make it easier to get stuck in it in the first place or it would make it easier for her to get out if she did.

I would probably just get a bigger one, if there's an intermediate size between what you're using now and one that would be as big as she is.

I just haven't had good experience with Kong as a brand. I know it's a best seller, but Pookins can chew through any of their stuff in an hour...relieved she's on our side...for you a bigger Planet Dog might be a good choice

There is a West Paw Design toy that has a hole for stuffing treats, I think it's the Tux? I just picked up ours and it might still be possible for her to get her jaw stuck though. I'm not sure. It's kind of a strange shaped opening.

Famous last words

Logan just walked up to me with the giant black Kong stuck on his lower jaw. There are some sentences I should just keep away from :rofl1:
