Sorry if anyone is from this city or lives here & loves it but...... I HATE HOUSTON!!!!!! the weather SUCKS!!!! it rains waaaaaaaay too much for me here . our trailer is parked right next to the drainage pond for the run off & its over flowing (will try to get a pic soon) & the radar shows that the rain shows no sign of stopping :S if it doesnt stop soon i fear was are going to have a flooded house :S the only sewer hookups are over here as well as the electricity so there is no where else to put us :S

After most of our cattle died off or were sold because no one could afford to feed them and the ponds completely dried up and all the crops died....And after we had wildfires everywhere and had to worry constantly about losing our home, our animals, etc...

I for one am glad we're getting all this rain. I will say it is extremely weird weather for us to get flooded in the middle of summer. But really, I'm thankful for it. Most ponds still hadn't filled up from the drought. We're starting to get there now. But I'm definitely not going to complain. I say keep it coming.

what part of tx are you in? here its always been wet last winter & all while we were here it rained... maybe i am a rain bringer LOL LOL, want rain? invite me over :p

the rain wouldnt be so hard to take if it werent for the fact that from a dog husbandry standpoint... the other reason is a long story, in Feb, i went into the restroom (i had had something the night before that wasnt agreeing with me) i was going to be right back out to do something i dont ever remember what now. i think it was wash my truck or something; i come out to fivnd Izze (dog in my siggy) running back to me from the barn area with two huge lacerations, one on hert side the other over the top of her knee.

of course we rushed her to the vet, she had a trauma fracture that had pushed her pelvis fwd an inch or so & had some loss of function in her rear area, but the ortheropedic sergeon was pretty positive that she would greatly inprove with surgery so we opted for surgery... but she didnt make it, on the morning of her surgery she passed away from a pulominary embolisim.

the vet as well as us think it was a person who did this, someone who works at the same place & he is still there, the other guy had an argument with the guy before we arrived & a day or so later he found tons of sugar in his gas tank :( this guy si a baaaad dude. which is why i cant let my dogs out to play like at the other place, which is full of animal lovers & everyone lets their dogs loose (the place has coyotee proof permiter fencing due toi the fact that its a breeding farm with young babies).

anyway that is the story. i hate it here i wish i could leave but i dont have the money yet

I'm just outside of Houston. If this is your doing, then you can't leave. We still need the rain. Sorry to hear about your dog.

You don't like the rain because somebody hurt your dog? I don't think I understand the point of the story... Sorry about your dog

no, no LOL LOL just watching the rising water at our doorstep get higher & higher inspired this thread. the dog related stress just exaserbates everything. i should have titled this thread 'the rain ... & other issues' oh well, heinsight.

i worry all this dog managment is going to hurt Buddy & my's relationship :( this is the place we were at back in march when we first adopted him, then a month later we moved to the big ranch in Industry, now we are back here, i can see that he is acting different, hes looking at me like 'mom have i done something wrong?' he is very sensitive & is prolly feeling my stress im sure. i try to give them as much ffun time as possible, there is a half mile track out back with a huge lake in the middle that we walk around twice a day where i can take them off leash & they can have fun time, i walk them one round (slowlyso they can have as much play time as possible) at lunch & three rounds in the evening after work with about 30-45 min of ball playing for Josefina (she loves fetch) with her chuck-it toy. do you think they blame me? :(
