Just got into a ridiculous argument with a bunch of idiots on a local Pets For Sale group on Facebook. They are convinced that this is a Bobcat, or a Bobcat/Domestic cross.

I need to stop and remember that this is coming from the same pool of people that were quite sure that Stan is a fox.

Just looks like a large, slightly mangyish roughed up cat to me. Poor dude. Hope he gets a home though. Bobcat or not :p

Loooooong legs! But not a bobcat lol. I mean, for starters, the cat has a tail. A long one.

Why do people need things to be other things? I don't understand.
Well things that are other things are cooler than the other guys things.....in a nut shell, ROFL!

And I love the look of that UNbobcat! I hope he gets a good home :)

It sounds like he was just seen walking around and the person who photographed him wasn't sure what he was. When I pointed out the differences between this creature and a bobcat, and links saying that no Bobcat/Domestic hybrids have been verified, I was accused of arguing to feed my ego or something. This is a special group of folks. I can see why Stan is identified as a fox by the locals now.

Let me run this through my translator. It says: "EXCUSE ME, I'm not accustomed to being called on my BS!"

Sounds about right.

Also after posting that no hybrids have ever been verified, all sorts of people are adding in, "I had a bobcat cross. We found him on a farm!"

When you point out that nobody is selling bobcat crosses for astronomical amounts of money like they do with all of the other wild cats that can interbreed, I hear crickets.

I live in a vortex of stupid.
