I used to be scared of them, but I'm over it now. That's a good thing too, as I was able to keep my head yesterday when THE DRUNKEN IDIOTS I WAS WITH WERE THROWING THEM AT ME.

Well, I was proud of Mia tonight because about halfway through our agility class they were setting them off in the field next to us. I was really impressed, all the dogs from both classes seemed perfectly fine with the fireworks.

Try livibg in Texas. Fireworks get canceled state-wide almost every year.

I like fireworks like roman candles, and little ones that you can have fun with. Spinners, Bees, whatever. Rockets and traditional fireworks are boring.

I like professional fireworks. When Disney does fireworks, I will be more than happy to go and watch the beautiful displays.

But when drunken idiots/suburban families with NOTHING better to do go stand outside and shoot off these sad little blips of nothing that make a lot of noise... yea, It's kind of annoying.
I seriously DO NOT GET the appeal. They pay a lot of money for these sad little glorified sparklers and spend all night shooting em off.. for what?

and of course when I go running the next day in the park.. they leave their frikin fireworks trash EVERYWHERE. Ugh.

Right after i posted last night, my drunk neighbors were setting off their leftover fireworks, right outside my apartment. Jerks.

and even the little firecrackers that are fun to throw at people's feet to scare the hell out of them.
Yeah, 'cause it's totally fun to scare **** out of people and terrorize humans. I'd love to see you TRY to do that to someone with PTSD someday. Loads of 'fun'.

I don't think that was what Grace meant. I'm assuming she meant while hanging out with a group of people she was close with, and catching them off guard. Sort of like walking up behind someone and touching their shoulders to give them a little scare. I'll do that to Ian, but it's not like I'd do it to a total stranger :rofl1:

I'm not a fan of fireworks at all. Okay, I'll definitely say I hate them. I don't understand the fun of it. My parents used to have a huge BBQ party every July 4th and would set off fireworks. I would stay inside, since I can't stand loud noises like that.

My only dogs with noise aversions are Rory and Chloe. Rory will bark at fireworks and thunder, and Chloe will shake. Whenever there are fireworks or storms, I'll put her thundershirt on which helps.

Uuummm, I don't think she was talking about deliberately torturing people with PTSD. Nor was she talking about sitting in a dark alley and tossing them at random strangers' feet. Forgive me, but I interpreted that as something she did amongst friends, and not worth getting your hackles up over.

Anyway, I'm neutral to them. I didn't bother to go find any on Wednesday because it was 100 degrees out. I like watching a nice display though.

As for the dogs, my roommate's dog is terrified and takes Xanax in order to function when there are fireworks. Otherwise he's just shut down and waiting for the end.

Keeva didn't seem to notice, even when she went out to pee and one went BOOM over her head. She just looked at it like, "Huh, look at that," and went back to peeing.

I love fireworks, especially the really big ones that shoot up in the sky. I love the delay and the boom in my chest and the sizzling noises and the smell... I love the whole thing.

I'm lucky enough to have always lived in neighborhoods though where the neighbors fireworks weren't an issue. I live in a dry area, so the police are pretty serious about cracking down on rule breaking. I'm also lucky enough to have dogs that don't really care about the noise.
