So Webby turned 5 earlier this month.

^Trying to peak ahead over the hill on his birthday. But he's only five and is not over the hill yet, no matter what all his grey hairs may say.

See? Premature greying. He says he looks distinguished.

Anyway so Webby like going places. Any place it doesn't matter he just like going there. And once he's there he just can't wait to go somewhere else. It doesn't matter if we go to his most favorite place in the whole world, if we take a step toward the car he is running around it in circles and dancing with excitement because we are going somewhere and it might just be even better.

Optimism incarnate.

He loves going places so much that if I leave the door to the garage open and my car door open (say the weather is nice and I'm cleaning out things or packing up the car for a trial weekend) Webster will sneak out into the car and stay there for hours all by himself just in case it's time to go.

"Hey where are you guys going...car's over here...seriously guys...right here..."

Also, Webby and my spouse come very close to sharing their birthdays. Just days apart. And my spouse has been wanting to take Webby bicycling with him since...well pretty much since we got Webster back in 2008.

So the in-laws got together and we got them both a like-new dog trailer to pull behind the bicycle. I'm not sure who is most pleased, but Webster's feeling right at home already.

"Are you going to pull this thing or what? I don't have all day..."

I've threatened to install a secret Web-cam :)p) to make sure Webster is not eating 5 lbs of bacon every time they go bicycling...they tend to bike about 4-5 days a week and on the weekend they bike to a breakfast place that's about 30 miles away...with outdoor seating...yeah Webster is never going to leave that trailer again I can see it already...

Happy Birthday!! He is one stunning boy. I love his ears! Can you post more photos of him and those ears, please! What breed is he? May I ask how he ended up with you?

I tend to drown the forum in pictures from time to time so there will surely be more pictures of Webster :)

We don't know what breeds he is..he's only about 20lbs. My personal best guess is rat terrier X sheltie, which would explain a lot (physical and personality) and are both very common breeds where we got him.

Webby lived with a couple in an apartment. They broke up when he was about a year old and the woman threw the guy and the dog out. Guy had no place to keep the dog so dropped him off at a friend's house and said find him someplace to live. Friend was a manager at a local fish store I frequented at the time (I'd stop in at least 2x a week...it was on my way home and we would chat about aquatics) and took Webby to the fish store after getting him UTD on shots. Couldn't take him to the shelter since he was a resource guarder (food and location, would apply teeth to drive home point with little warning) among other things and would be put down. Ended up selling him to me for the price of his shots and a bag of Innova. I wasn't sure we'd keep him...it was kind of a "let's see if this works" sort of thing...but he worked his way into our hearts very quickly and showed remarkable enthusiasm and aptitude for training and really blossomed into a great guy so it didn't take long before us to admit he was here to stay :)

We're hoping to go for a test ride on Saturday night or Sunday morning. Really hoping he doesn't yell as much as Didgie did on her inaugural bike trailer ride ;)

We're going to have to have a bike trailer dog gang yet...lol
