My Possible Future Kitten

This is a kitten I want to adopt. If I do not adopt him, he's doomed to a life of 100% outdoors, constant fighting with other outdoor toms when he grows up, zero vet care and crappy diet. This is out in the country in an area where there is zero care and zero laws for proper pet care, and I want to help these kittens. And they are not mine and neither is the mother, so I had to ask for permission to take just two (they keep them for mousers out here).

And he's free. He's currently 4 weeks old, so I'm just waiting for him to grow. He's really mellow and sweet so far. I really want him.

I may take a second one because I have a family member who also wants one, so two kittens would get good homes.

Sorta... they have a shelter/den area. I tried to get the mother cat to keep them indoors, but she took them all back outside. Twice. So I made a safe shelter for them outdoors where the mother cat kept dragging them, and she keeps them in there now. So yeah... they'll be outside till I take them.

That's so sad.

No name yet. I'm trying to think up some good names from animes I like (Blake's sister thinks I should name him Sesshoumaru LOL). Both my dogs have anime names... although... my current cat is named after a cheetah in a story I was writing, so maybe I could name him something big-cat-ish too... Or maybe something from "Warriors"!!

I've got to say I'm throwing support behind Sesshoumaru...

Omigosh, he is GORGEOUS! ^^ He is going to be one handsome fella when he gets older.

It really irks me when people think barn cat = no care involved. Our neighbors are like that and we ended up taking in/rehoming at least five or six of their cats (because the poor things would end up coming down to our house for proper food/water/shelter/safety). All of our cats are "outdoor" cats (with the two boys also being house cats - the girls don't like it inside) and they all mouse and due their job, but they are all also spayed/neutered, groomed, well fed, and given vet care when they need it, not to mention given proper shelter and access to water, even in the winter.
You'd give proper care to a LGD whose sole purpose was to work and not be a pet...why wouldn't you do the same for a cat? /end vent.

Well, upon tallying the votes here, Facebook, and several other forums, it seems to be between Wash and Sesshoumaru. And this is tough for me, because I love both. XD I already have 2 anime pets, but no Firefly ones. And boy do I love me some Firefly. Shiny!

I vote for Sesshomaru because I had a Kiba. Simon is a great name, too, although the character from the series was kinda annoying. Name him Book instead. LOL
