Here are some of the pics I took yesterday at herding. Massive day - over 20 dogs turned out.

Richard, one of the instructors with one of his dogs.

Jilly - First time on sheep. (Mother to Jedda and Zephyr who I have pics of coming up. This dog was pretty awesome.)

Poppy trying to work out what she's done. (Yesterday was her second time on sheep)

SHEEP!

The crazies in the car.

The Border Collies of the day.

And the Kelpies. Plenty of them.

All done. Might add some more later.

There is a lady that has a Kelpie that she brings to the local ASCA stock dog trials. It's amazing how much they work like border collies.

Very cool! How's Poppy doing on the sheep? I have a "baby" introduction to sheep scheduled in the middle of July for Zinga, just to try and get her exposed.

Yay! I'm so super excited to see how Koolies are on sheep.

Mrose, great pictures! 20 dogs, that's a lot! We need more Quinn, though!

Ahhh so cool! I want to try some day and get Backup back on sheep, I doubt we'd ever make a real go of it but I'd love to learn more about how it works. We've done a whoopin 3 HIC runs but we had a blast none the less.

That Kelpie photo is so cool!

Thanks guys.
Poppy is doing really well, you can tell she knows what she's doing. She's much more of a driving dog, she generally likes to stay behind and move the sheep along with you, whereas Quinn is constantly wanting to get to the head and stop them.

I loved Quinn yesterday, I'm not sure if its because she's in season or not (she was a little distracted) but she was much calmer and stayed off the sheep much better. I'm really l oving watching her improve.
