I'm so proud of this father for doing whatever it took to protect and defend his daughter. I pray that no charges will be brought against him when all is said and done.

Today in the news: Dad kills man who was sexually assaulting daughter

A man who was caught sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl was killed by the girl’s father, Texas police said. The girl and her father were at the abuser’s house for a social gathering, and at one point, the girl was inside the house with the man and he began sexually assaulting her. The father happened to enter the house and saw the assault, and he repeatedly punched the attacker in the head, killing him. Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon said they aren’t charging the father, as it was “defense of his third person,†but a grand jury could decide to bring charges.

Good for him! The better NOT bring charges. It was defense and that SOB deserved what he got. I hope the little girl is okay.

Last I read, no charges were being filed but I think there's still an ongoing investigation.

He deserves to be honored as a hero, definitely did the right thing. They should approach him to be in local law enforcement...they need more people like that.

From what i read he reacted coming upon the scene , he did not deliberatly go vigilanty ala "A Time To Kill" . he did not mean to kill the guy. (although it is the best outcome IMO)

Now even if he DID go Vigilanty then he I still think it is ok.

community reaction (ie the jury pool) has been EXTREMELY supportive of the father.

Fortunately, this happened in TX. Gonna be hard to find a jury that would convict him. Waste of taxpayer money to even try, IMO.

But, if it had happened in Pinellas County FL. who knows. ;)

As they should be!

As far as I'm concerned there's one less scumbag off the street because of this guy. How many more kids and women are safe now because of this?

Hopefully they're only investigating whether or not the guy had other victims who might need support.

I wanna give the dad a hi five, I hope his kid is okay.

Good. I'm sure if they did/do try to press charges, they're going to have a lot of angry people giving them a hard time.
This and I think it would be a safe bet to say he wouldn't be paying all if any of his court/attorney costs.

It's in Texas . . . can you imagine a DA who prosecuted this guy ever getting re-elected? ;)

Actually, I'd think there would be very few places that would support a DA pursuing charges. I'd hope, anyway.

That is awesome that he isn't being charged with anything. What a great Dad. :) I would hope my babydaddy would beat the living hell out of ANYONE who would dare hurt our child too.

Good riddance, I'm glad the guy died. Scum.
