Cute or not cute?

Generally, I always "awww!" when I see mothers carrying their babies... but not so much in this case. I think I'd have a heart attack if I saw that!

I think it's delightfully creepy lol I don't find scorpions cute but I find the juxtaposition between our human notions of "aww it's nurturing its babies" and "omfg its so horrid" funny/interesting/...enchanting? Something like that but I cannot explain it well.

What skeeves me out more are these toads:

The little toads hatch in the mother's back, basically. It's just nasty lol Fascinating, but nasty.

I like most insect type critters, with the exception of scorpions, so not cute at all. I do think that it's kind of cool that they nurture their babies though. I don't like scorpions, but I respect them as valuable parts of the ecosystem and have to give any mama that would tolerate that many babies riding on her back all day props.
