My DIY pet grooming spray/household cleaner recipe stuffs

Well, my mom is all organic/natural everything crazy and with the dogs on raw and everything we've been kind of combining our evils to create some easy natural DIY dog stuff and here is what we have found works best for us

Things you will need:
- Some empty spray bottles
- white vinegar
- apple cider vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide

Things you might need:
- essential oil (optional. I like lavender)
- cool mop
- permanent marker (write down what bottles are/what's in them)

DOG SPRAY
We spray this on before/after walks (..or before guests come over lol) the vinegar smell goes away right after at dries, it deodorizes (no more doggy smell), does a good job at killing bacteria or other walk yukkies and leaves our dogs with yummy lavender smell (lavender essential oil is also great for repelling fleas/ticks/mosquitoes)

1 spray bottle

1 part water

1 part apple cider vinegar (preferably organic)

lavender essential oil drops

stick em all in a spray bottle. spray dog lol

PET SAFE GENERAL CLEANER SPRAY
(vinegar is safe for kids and pets and college students who lick counters drunk etc.cheap..kills most bacteria, mold germs due to high acidity and is a great disinfectant) We use this on counter tops and tables and other oddities lol

1 spray bottle

1 part white vinegar

1 part water

a few drops lavender essential oil (I don't really measure it honestly lol)

In a regular spray bottle, mix the vinegar, and water thoroughly. Add essential oil (if desired. Keep in mind vinegar smell goes away after it dries.. but I like the flowery smell) Shake well

FLOOR CLEANER we use this mop and it's awesome http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-Reveal-Spray-Mop-FG1M1600GRYRD/dp/B003UA7F46/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337118276&sr=8-1 just put cleaner in plastic bottle to spray then you can wash & re-use dirty mop map..environmentally friendly and everything!
For those with swiffers.. I would just ghettofy my swiffer and dip a wash cloth in the cleaner and attach lol

2 cups white vinegar

2 gallons warm water

*A squirt or two of dish soap optional

Fill bucket with warm water. Add 2 cups of white vinegar. Mop normally.

Crate Sanitizer duo: 2 bottles the dogs eat raw in crate so we use this..

Research shows that vinegar and hydrogen peroxide sprayed separately is “more effective at killing …Salmonella, Shigella, or E. coli bacteria than chlorine bleach or any commercially available kitchen cleaner.†* they MUST be in separate containers and used one after the other (remember hydrogen peroxide has to be in dark bottle)

-Mix one part white vinegar and one part water.. put in spray bottle

-Mix one part hydrogen peroxide and one part water .. put in another spray bottle.

-Spray one after the other.

-Let dry.
That's it

Anyway though, thanks for posting that. I use a vinegar/water mixture for cleaning after raw food but will try your mixture. I like the idea of lavender, too! Spy doesn't get too smelly but sometimes I notice his chest hair touches his meat dinner and it totally grosses me out so I may try giving him a light spray.

Thanks, Fran! I was kind of thinking about using ACV on Caleb the other day. The thought went through my head to use it as a rinse after his bath, but I wasn't sure about diluting, etc, so I didn't do it. I've sprayed him with a 50/50 mix of Listerene & water after hikes, etc. I'll be switching to your spray now.

I've been using white vinegar/water in a spray bottle for years now, especially when Caleb was a pup. BTW- for anyone with rabbits, white vinegar is great at getting urine residue off the dropping pans, etc.

AWESOME! I want to try the dog spray and the crate cleaner!
