I met one before and it seemed really sweet and friendly, but then again it was a fairly short encounter so I can't really say for sure.

Awesome dogs! There are a few people at our club who have them. I find them to be a little more toned down in ways from other "small breeds", they aren't really like toys. They're less hyper, manic, a little more calm in otherwise exciting situations. Can't speak as to living with one, but you have two choices with coat, keep it groomed or keep it clipped.

I have met a few in agility. They seem to be quite active, similar to papillions in energy. Though not quite there in drive.

I like the couple I've met but can't get over the haircut...

Welsh, hyper and manic are good traits as far as I'm concerned.

lol, I'd hate to say that I like them, but... yeah I do have a thing for those kinds of dogs!

I think I could see a Lowchen doing agility, but yeah they don't remind me of those really "drivey" dogs you typically see revved and ready at the start.

I noticed there is a breeder down London way... Since I'm likely going to a Wolfhound Special that way (the Canadian National I think) I might try to hit up the breeder for a visit :) I don't mind some activity, but I do need something that won't be running laps indoors all the time. That would drive me crazy (one reason I don't want a Papillion as much as I think they are adorable). Too many really small breeds are also really hyper, but my son is really into the idea of a lap dog, and my house really doesn't suit the bigger dogs. I'm also intrigued by their rarity :D

You'd love my boyfriend then LOL :D

I don't think lowchen are welsh though. They're little lions, and I know for sure none of that is lion in welsh!

I've never met one in person. They're meant to be little big dogs though I think!!
