I have mild IBS, I have known this a LONG time but never actually spoken to a doctor about it until recently. I had a tummy bug and wasn't well, had some other stuff going on, so my other half made me a docs appt and took me to it (and sat there till I went it - I never go to the docs!!!!).

Basically I started on the Yakult (this was not recommended), just because I'd had the tummy bug for a few days and thought it couldn't hurt.

2 weeks later, and I am noticing some really positive things. I won't go into too much detail, but things are much more normal. And I am nowhere NEAR as bloated. And I LOVE spicy food (much to my detriment) and I have eaten some fairy un-bland things without any noticeable differences at all.

I don't look pregnant after I eat any more :D My stomach used to swell up, and be very tight and uncomfortable. I also used to get a lot of gas

I have read a lot of contradicting information, and I am very aware there is no evidence to suggest they work. But I can honestly say I have noticed a massive difference in a short space of time.

The only thing I don't like is the amount of sugar in the Yakult, so I might try the sugar free. And it tastes weird, but I have got over that now.

Love them but I don't bother with the expensive sugar filled yogurt things, they don't contain enough actives to be worth it for me.

I take a refrigerated pill form every day and they seriously help with some digestion issues I have with certain foods and no more bloated tummy.

I took yakult for a while, but it's almost PURE sugar with the amount of sugar in it! I haven't been able to find the sugar free. I don't mind the taste since it's just a couple of swallows anyway.

I think I care more about my dog's digestion than my own, and I do have IBD. Hmm...I think maybe this is something I should look into.

WHERE do I go to find human probiotics? Can I just take the stuff for the dogs (hehe joke, really...)

Any shop I think. Not sure about the pills, but Yakult is everywhere, and there are other brands available. You have to ensure they have over so many billion bacteria in though, and there are strains which are proven to survive through the gut, so make sure it's one of them.
