They're beautiful! I love those ice blue eyes. <3 As if BCs didn't have intense eyes already. :p

Please don't be offended, because I mean it as a compliment. . .but generally show line BCs make me sad. They're like Golden Retrievers in BC suits. Bulky with enormously thick coats, no drive, no "spark" that makes a BC a BC. BUT your dogs have been such a pleasant exception to my rule. They're lithe, agile, beautiful and brainy, and I love how much you do with them, because so many people just do conformation and nothing else, and with a working breed that makes me very upset.

Now I'll sit here and hope you didn't take that the wrong way.

Actually, I take it in the best way possible, to me that is a huge compliment. I agree with you. I dislike the typical show BC just as much as anyone. I show my dogs, but I don't breed them for conformation. They are bred for working ability, temperament, health and structure- and the fact that they're freakin' gorgeous is just a plus. Fiona unfortunately probably won't ever finish her championship because of her blue eyes, which is sad, because she is very nice.

I have intentionally stayed away from a lot of lines in the US because I don't think that the direction that most show breeders in this country are taking does the breed any favors, but I happen to love the conformation ring, I grew up with it, and I make it a game for my dogs. Its just another sport to me.

Phew! I was afraid you'd take it as a backhanded compliment, partial insult. I meant it as pure praise for your dogs. :) I wouldn't have said anything about you showing them, because usually I think "show BCs = bad" and "working bred BCs = good" (yes, I am that close minded, lol), but your dogs are amazing, and wonderful examples of a border collie. They opened my mind and impressed me so much I felt I had to say it.

Thank you so much! That means a lot. My goal is not to produce top winning dogs, but to get moderate dogs in the rings so that judges can see that there are still people who care out there.

I like this a lot! I'll be watching what you do with your breedings. I was seriously considering getting a BC pup (on several lists) but the working line weren't exactly what I was looking for and the show line had WAY too much coat to be working dogs without issues. I was hoping for a happy medium but gave up and went another way entirely. I like the looks of your dogs a lot and will echo the compliment about the nice balance you have going there.

Riot looks like she has the softest coat, ever. I just love the look of that dog! Your crew is very pretty, and it looks like they're having fun with search work!

Riot is absolutely breathtaking! He's got a great moderate build and I love the shape of his face. What a crazy-good-looking pair =)
