At least he'll **** on Josh instead of you, now? :p

He's totally gonna end up staying!
Hahahaha omg that's hilarious!!!!! Funny enough. He woke up when josh was still asleep so I went to grab him to try and get him to go potty in the litterbox and he pooped on me on the way to the box. So josh hogs him and I'm STILL the one that gets pooped on.

+100 :rofl1:

He's so indescribably adorable. And he's so lucky you of all people found him. Good job, Amber, and Bamm Bamm too! :)
Thank you so much. He definitely prob wouldn't have made it through the night. It's cold here and it started raining a few hours ago. He absolutely will not touch the canned food even mixed with water or milk replacement and was running low on the milk so I just went out and bought a big can of more. This little guy is a pig.

I would give him a very small dose of Pectin (the otc pet diarrhea med). You could call your vet and ask first.

Good luck, you are totally keeping the little monster hahaha! ;)

Thank you. Josh is still talking about him like he is not staying. He has NOT put the cat down for hours though. He set him down so he could scarf down dinner but ate really fast so that he could grab the kitten again. They keep taking naps together and I haven't gotten to hold him in a while.

I can't get over how little he is.

Update... He just had some more mucousy diarrhea and a little bit of blood came out as well. Soonest I can get him to a vet is Monday. Any ideas on what could possibly cause this? His bum looks swollen as well and red.

Josh just said we can't pay to take him to the vet so I have to figure out how I'm going to get him seen. I def think he needs to see a vet. I get paid Tuesday so hopefully I can get him in without Josh knowing I paid for it.

I don't know anything about kittens but is it true what Josh said? Will a vet visit affect the finances negatively? I mean, you do need to thunk about how to pay the bills if he doesn't get any work this week.

Are there any rescues around you that would have experience with young kittens?

It shouldn't cost that much to get him in. Look around for a low-cost clinic. He needs to see a vet ASAP. It doesn't sound like he's too healthy.. if you can't get him seen see if a rescue or shelter will help you out but please get him in as soon as you can.

A vet visit won't affect our finances negatively as long as it isn't too expensive. He just doesn't want to spend money on anything involving the animals usually so I usually end up paying for that stuff out of my own paychecks. I'm looking online for some low cost vets out here. Also one of my coworkers mentioned a vet out here that tends to give discounts for rescued cats/feral cats etc so I'm going to contact them as well.

In regards to the diarrhea, most young kittens do get loose stools when they're switched to formula and/or canned food. Was his belly full when you found him? Sometimes the mother cats move their litters and she may have been in the process of moving kittens.

It's almost what we like to call "kitten season" here, where everyone drops off kittens they've found to the vet clinic. One year we had 15 at one time (11 with ringworm)..horrors.

ETA: in the meantime, you can probably offer some plain yogurt or Benebac to help with the tummy issue until he can be seen at a vet

Email rescues, somebody will help you out. Honestly, he needs to get in before Tuesday. All this diarrhea he's just going to get dehydrated, and he can be getting infections

It doesn't sound like he's especially healthy, but nearly every malnourished rescue kitten I've bottle fed has had awful stool and an inflamed butt for a few days after going from NO food to rich, unusual formula. I would not panic, but I would give him a little squirt of nutri cal a few times a day, and try to get some extra liquidy formula in him if you can. Most kittens seem to do ok with a little dab of nutri cal.

BTW no kitten eating formula is going to have firm stool. At best it'll be a soft "tube" of poop. TMI I know but I've never ever had a kitten with hard poops on formula. I do get better results with homemade formula than I do with the dry powder stuff though.

He does need to be wormed and checked out, though, I agree. See if any rescues can help you out.

He is doing pretty good. Just posted another thread of him in the cat and pet forum with some updated pics.

He is eating like a champion and he is really starting to come around and socialize more with us. The dogs adore him.

He has a vet appointment today to do an overall checkup and a fecal. He definitely looks wormy and I think he looks like he has a hemorrhoid. Poor guy. Been putting vaseline on his bum which has helped calm the inflamation a bit but he should get meds for it today.

Stopped by the vet by my work yesterday and they said he looks just about 4 weeks old.
