Since I'm on such a hound kick lately, which are your favourites?

I'm falling more in love with bloodhounds lately. FOHA has two of them right now (or rather, one purebred bloodhound and one that is likely bloodhound/walker hound who is very athletic and not at all overly wrinkled like you usually see). The purebred may bay all the time, crap like an elephant and drool when he drinks, but he's so floppy and cute and sweet and cuddly I can't help but <3 him. I haven't interacted that much with the other one but he's really cool too.

I love the hounds that come into FOHA. We never see coonhounds as nice as the ones you post pictures of. Then I get all sad that they don't do out of area adoptions. Sigh.

Plotts are pretty much the greatest dogs ever. Just sayin'.

I'm completely in love with MY basset, and I've seen a few rescues I liked, and I've met a lot of SWEET bassets... but I'll probably never have another.

So, Plotts. Hands down.

Basenjis. I have owned and raised them for 20 years now and can't see myself without them.

I could see myself possibly owning a Portuguese Podengo. I like all 3 sizes but prefer the wire coat over the smooth. I also like PBGVs and Silken Windhounds.

I like the looks of Catahoulas, the coonhound and foxhound breeds, Beagles, Irish Wolfhounds, Scottish Deerhounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Pharaohs, Ibizans, Afghans, and Salukis but I don't think I could live with those breeds.

Oh, YodelDogs, thanks for reminding me about Basenjis! I think they're really cool dogs.
