I've been just lurking around for awhile, so I figured I better just start posting again, and I'll start by posting some recent pictures of Cali. :) She's 13 months old now.

She's still on the smaller side, at about five pounds.. but she likes to think she's about fifteen times that. :p She's really smart, and has been picking up on everything super fast. After we finish her obedience class, I'm planning on doing an agility class.. likely just for leisure though maybe we'll end up competing, who knows? :)

She's so cute. I just love her ears!

Where are you taking her obedience class? And are you planning on starting agility this spring? Simi and I are starting in May and I'm super excited.

Mo's groomer has a bunch of classes at the local fitness center in the indoor tennis court (outside in the warmer months), we just started at the first of April. She does do agility classes too, but I have no clue when or if she'll be doing them this year?

When do the agility classes for your club start? I'm thinking that my dad might be more open to that because his girlfriend lives in Fredericton, so he might be willing to take me and then go visit her during the practice. Plus I'm thinking that your club would have better facilities and such, and I don't really like our trainer's methods. I'm just super excited to try it out, I used to get Moses to go over some jumps for fun, but Cali hasn't really done much yet.. aside from some simple foundation exercises that I've gotten offline. We got to try a little bit of flyball one day and she caught on pretty quick.

Our club starts classes in May. If you're interested, I can pm you the address of our trainer.

Our club does have a really good facility. And once you're started in agility you're more than welcome to come over to my field and use our stuff. We'll have a full set by summer. We just need a few more tunnels, a spread jump double and a tire and we've got it all.

The first class our club offers is a "Intro to Agility" class before foundations even and it's lots of the easy ground work stuff. Really good for young dogs. And, well all dogs. Even if the dog knows the stuff already or some of it, it's nice to work that in the group setting.

Ah, okay I was just curious because I didn't think there were obedience classes out your way.

I did manage to find the site again, so I e-mailed one of the e-mails I found on there, asking for more information and just saying how I was interested in doing agility with Cali. :)

And that'd be really awesome of you! I'd definitely have to take you up on that offer once we got started. :)

Neither did I actually. :p We just took Moses to the groomer's and brought Cali along and she told us about it so we signed her up. The dogs there are quite reactive though, although she has a little love affair going on with a cute pug mix.

Alright, the lady you'll want to talk to is Jeri... but likely you'll easily be put in touch with her.

Haha, it's all good. I love having people to train with and I'm super stoked about having equipment so more than willing to share. I've invited Mer from here to come on down any time too, but she lives like 8 hours away or something stupid, lol.

Ah, I see. Makes sense. Reactive dogs can make for some... interesting classes. I was just curious where you were taking them because in the obedience classes Simi and I are in a lady was traveling from up your general way so I thought maybe word was getting out about them, even in that area.

Thank you, ~Dixie's_Mom~ :)

And I just put our name on the list for the intro to agility class. :) although I did tell her that it would depend on the time and day of the class.. so hopefully they'll have the final details out before too long so that we know.

I need to put my name on that list... as long as Simi can manage it through her crate rest... dang dog. If I recall correctly, classes are usually at 6 or 7. I'm hoping 7... this is something I should probably figure out too. lol. Lemme know what day you end up in for classes... I'm gonna have to try for Mondays cause Simi has obedience Tuesday.

I can only imagine how Cali would be on crate rest.. she'd be a little terror. :p I will, but I'm hoping for Tuesday (since Cali's obedience classes are on Mondays), although I'd have to reschedule one of my riding lessons to a different day. :) I really hope the timing works out though, Cali would love it.

Simi's obedience classes are only for 4 more weeks (I think) and so at the end of Intro I'll probably switch to Tuesday. I hatteeeee having dog classes on Mondays.

Same, Cali will have only three classes left after this Monday.. though I wish that they were done with so that we could just do the agility class on Monday instead of likely having to do it on Tuesday. Hopefully it works out somehow, afterall, dog sports were my main reason for getting Cali in the first place. :p

Obedience will be good for you, though. And from a club insiders view, I don't THINK we'll have the field ready for the first date that was mentioned in the e-mail. We might though, who knows. All the stuff still needs to be moved out, fences up, etc.. But yeah. So you won't be long until it'll be done. Maybe just a class or two where you'd have both.

I'm still iffy on if Simi will be in or not, because of her shoulder, but if we don't make Into to agility we'll jump in at the Foundation level and catch up.

I agree, it's been really good for Cali and I so far. She listens much better now and is getting better at ignoring other dogs/animals (to an extent anyways). :) And yeah, it can take a fair bit of time to clean things up. I'm planning on helping clean up the bairdsville arena/property.

Hopefully her shoulder will be good enough to join in, how long has she been on crate rest? As a sidenote, I have to say that she appears to have grown into a gorgeous dog.. even if she seems to be quite a handful at times from some of your posts. :p
