People are idiots. :rofl1:

Sooo.... doing math all day, had to get out of the house and take a break, so I take Jackson up to walk at this big park 5 mins down the street, a ton of baseball fields and such, plus a nice walking trail through the woods.

Well I pull up in my car and there's this older couple (probably early 60's) with a Portageus Water Dog, very cute guy, off leash. I don't care, I don't think there's any signs that state dogs have to be on leash and the dog is behaving nicely so *shrugs*... but typically, I never see off leash dogs here and it's fairly quiet and non-busy.

So anyways, I park, and this woman comes walking over to my car so I'm kind of like wtf. I don't even have time to unbuckle my seatbelt when she's OPENING MY BACK DOOR and telling my dog to "come on out!" :yikes: Thankfully, Jackson has enough sense to me like "who the eff is this person?" and he usually looks to me for guidance first.

I was like "NO, don't let him out!" and she was like shocked and shut the door real quick. "Oh, will he run?"

I just said YES, even though he probably wouldn't have. That's beside the point. WTF opens up a stranger's back door and willingly lets their dog loose? First off, their dog was big, what IF God forbid, Jackson did not LIKE big dogs... or their big dog did something to mine, or whatever. And WHAT IF my dog had darted out of the car and went and got hit by a car and it was these idiot's fault? Ummm, like, HELLO.

My mind is blown.

I've never been so happy that I don't have back doors o_O

If that was Frodo, she'd be lucky if she didn't get BIT!

Yeah I wouldn't take very well to a stranger coming up and touching my car, never mind if I had dogs in it or not... not your car, don't open the door!

WOW.

Was there something mentally off about her? I mean...even if there wasn't a dog, you don't open someone else's car!!!

I don't think there was... her and her husband looked really normal. I mean, don't get me wrong, they were nice enough... walking along the trails with their dog in tow, who was just happily following them with a ball in his mouth. And then she asked me where I got his harness, and what his name was, but I was so flabbergasted by what she did, I kind of just began walking the other way, LOL.

That would so weird me out...

Luckily on my car the back door and side doors lock when driving so I have to unlock them if I want to get anything from the back when I stop.

What a strange experience...

That sounds like some of the experiences I had over the weekend at UAD. Quite interesting!

People never cease to amaze.

I don't even know what I would have done in that situation. Besides sit there and gape at them in disbelief. So crazy!

Glad Jackson is a good boy and stayed in the car!

Yeah, what she said. Sure, I've opened friend's car doors to see their dogs, but that's only after asking if it's OK. But to walk up to a total stanger and just open the door? That's wrong on so many levels. Makes me double glad I always lock the doors when I'm driving.
