michael bay is doing a live action ninja turtles movie. Lovely. He's just announced that the origin story will be changed for his movie. The turtles will be from an alien race.

:yikes:Say it ain't so! I'm going to date myself here, but I loved watching TMNT with our sons when they were little. Loved, loved, loved the movies, too, especially the first one. Why, oh why, does Hollywood feel the need to update a "classic"?

The original TMNT comic ended with Leonardo running Shredder through with his sword and all four turtles gathering around him as he died telling him he could save his honor by committing seppuku. They were raised and trained by Splinter solely to kill Shredder as revenge for his murder of Splinter's master and his master's wife.

Technically speaking, the 1980's cartoon series and Archie comics already "ruined" TMNT.


Seriously though, the current IDW comic run of TMNT is very good. You should pick it up if you aren't already.
