Hopefully by the beginning of next year, but I'm not holding out on it; a couple of things have to fall into place before then.

This for me, too. Everything has to work perfectly for it to become a reality, however. I need to have time, I need to feel like Chloe would adapt well, I need to have the finances, I need to have the right apartment, I need to make sure having three dogs (Chloe, Cynder, and new pup) isn't going to cause unneeded stress, and we need to have not inherited my boyfriend's uncle's Dachshund and Yorkie.

But, if everything does work out, I would like to have a new pup/dog by the end of the year. I'm not sure I'll have the purchase price for a purebred Lab ($900 is a bit of money), so I'll most likely just end up with a rescue dog.

For me personally, not until Elsie is elderly--so in 20 years or so. ;]

In my household, 2-5 years, probably. Once we're settled and have reliable income and all.

Not until Rosey passes and I have moved out... So not for a while

ETA: I am, however, adding another ferret in say, oh, 3 minutes from now :D

I'm planning on getting an Aussie puppy eventually.. probably when I'm in university and am financially prepared and have a pet friendly living space. It may have to wait until after university, but I do eventually want a red merle/tri Aussie girl and I want to pursue multiple dog sports with her. :) Until then, I'll be doing obedience and agility work with Cali. :)

I wish I could say this year or next (major puppy fever going on right now), but I'm hoping I'll be ready for another puppy in about 4 years or so. And, while that sounds like a long time, it's really not all that long. I want to go back to school and get started on a career before I commit myself to another dog. So as long as that all goes well, I think I'll be more than ready for a new puppy by then. My dogs will be 7, 8 and 9 years old by then, and that's a lot of years to go for me without a puppy! I love training puppies and really miss it. I really enjoy working with my adults too, but puppies are such fun little sponges.

Oh jeez. Not until most of my guys have passed. In ten years (my oldest dogs are 6, maybe one slightly older than that) my youngest will be a little over 11. The current plan is to not add any new dogs until we just have him, and possibly not even then. It's a long, long way to think about but after all of mine have left I'm considering not actually owning a dog of my own again and just fostering. The idea in my mind is that I could easily foster a group as opposed to one at a time like now, or I could take and foster dogs that need to be in single dog homes like DA dogs. Only time will tell though.

When both of mine have passed.
^that

Phoebe is coming up on 13, Orson is coming up on 6. So I have a while :)

I will be downsizing. In number of dogs (from 2 dogs to 1 dog) and in actual dog size. I am taking into account the handling, training, traveling, and exercise needs of a larger dog vs an older, slower me, LOL.

After my two have passed, I will probably be looking at a dog in the 15-30lb range, but nothing is set in stone of course.

Not for a good long while. The schnauzers will have to be retired and gone, and the three younguns well into dog sports before I even think about adding in another.

My plans keep changing (not because of lifestyle, rather because of how I feel about certain breedings and individual dogs). I am content with taking the time to talk to people in the breed and to lean more about exactly what I want.

At this rate, maybe not for another for years. ****, Trent will be 7 by then :yikes:
