Customer comes into work today. Dog is allergic to a crapload of stuff, he's currently eating California Natural and is doing fine on it. BUT they don't like how expensive it is. This dog is allergic to chicken, venison, peas, potatoes, carrots, eggs, and probably some other stuff (this is at least what they believe he's allergic to). So um, off the top of my head I didn't know what to recommend, so I went around the store examining ingredients.... Canine Caviar was a good fit but of course too expensive...
So then they grab a bag of Science Diet and go "hey, what about this? I don't think it has any of the things he's allergic to...." Uhhhh I'm sure there is plenty in that food that won't agree with him if he's as sensitive as they say. I told them as far as quality goes, it was downgrading. I asked them if they have considered or even heard of a raw diet. "Oh no, we've been through so much with him, we don't want him to get sick again." THEN WHY ARE YOU CHANGING HIS FOOD. "He was so sick, it was so hard to get him better again, we don't want to go through that again. But, I think we're going to give this Science Diet a try." WHAT. THE. HECK!!!
So stupid. CalNat is really not that expensive. Ugh.
