Since I'm on Chemo and Radiation now, (plus an assortment of drugs), I'm obviously not allowed to breastfeed and has had to put him on formula. One of the things that I am not happy with is the smell!! His food smells awful and his BREATH!!!! Oh my goodness, I know i'm experiencing side effects, but his breath makes me want to vomit every time I catch a whiff! Is there anything I can do about his breath? I don't like wanting to vomit each time I'm close to my son. Help!!

Maybe try several different formulas to see if something is in one that's making his breath smell so bad? Donor milk? I know there's a network (on fb and online now) for women seeking to find donor breastmilk (Human Milk 4 Human Babies/HM4HB); there are some risks associated with donor milk, but it's another option at least.

I tried several formulas (stopped producing milk at 6 months for some unknown reason) and I thought they all had an odor. But, aside from baby burps, I didn't notice too horrible of a breath smell

We use Similac Advance. The formula itself smells bad, and baby burps can smell bad, but I don't notice her breath smelling bad when I just hold her.

My toddler has far worse breath!

This is the one we use too. I think I'm extra sensitive to things that could affect nausea. The formula itself and burps/bring-up are by FAR the worse than just his breath. Matt has gotten to the point to have to do most of the feeding :(

I might have to try other formulas. And we do have at least one person donating a small amount of breast milk, and we have someone looking for other options as well which is fantastic. He got the very last of my own milk (the only bag I'd frozen, before everything changed) last weekend, and it was SO much nicer smelling! LOL

Can you try different formulas? I like the scent of certain formulas - like the goat milk, rice based ones.
That's what I was going to suggest too... try the ones that are kinda "different" and see if that helps.
What a bummer for you though... =< That must be really hard to not even be able to do the feedings with a bottle. I hope you can find one that doesn't make you feel nauseous.
