Looking for a new book or series to read. Similar to the hunger games or twilight series in the sense that they are love stories and have cool twists. I'm about to reread a series I read in 8th grade called Dangerous Girls. Its about teenage vampires but it wasn't as much of a love story. I dont remember loving it but....i figured I'd give it another shot. When I'm done with them though I want to find something new. Any suggestions?

Robin Parish's "Dominion" trilogy was really good.

The "Outlander" series by Diana Gabledon is also good and probably more along the lines of what your looking for. Romance/love story, time travel, intrigue, murder, etc.

I love all the series (except nadia stafford) by Kelley Armstrong. The characters are very well developed and the love stories have lots of twists, but are also very well developed and deep IMO.

She has both adult and young adult series going....all are good.

Tamora Pierce stuff. Especially The Song of the Lioness series and The Immortals.

Robin McKinley's The Blue Sword and Deer Skin. Her stuff is mainly stand alone but most will mention other characters from earlier books.

Juliet Marillier books. Especially The Sevenwaters Trilogy which starts with Daughter of the Forest.

Maria V. Snyder's book Poison Tester I really liked, not so much the rest of the series. But they aren't terrible.

Oh my GoD thank you. I read Graceling way before Fire came out and have been searching for them again unsuccessfully because I couldn't remember either author or name of the book!!!!

I liked the first three of the Uglies but not the last, and the Bloodhound series of Tamora Pierce is also super good.

You know, I liked Graceling ok, it was definitely entertaining but I kept feeling like the idea was much better than the execution. I didn't read Fire though, did you like it as much or more elegy?

I would check out Lev Grossman's The Magician, and it's sequel, The Magician King. It's a bit like Harry Potter meets Narnia, but definitely for adults.

It's definitely not a traditional love story, the books don't center around that aspect, but the relationship(s) the main character has do factor largely into the plot.

I actually like Fire significantly more. I think the story was a bit better executed.

The series that True Blood is based off of by Charlane Harris is GREAT. A lot better than the shows (I still love my True Blood garbage show but would read the books over watching the show any day) and are pretty easy to find... plus they're ALL already written from what I understand. LOL

It's not really what you said you're looking for, but I think you could maybe like it?

The Inheritance epic by Christopher Paolini is AMAZING. The first book in the series is Eragon. The movie was terrible, unfortunately, so if you've seen it, don't let it turn you off from the book! It's an AMAZING story and I love how well it is written.

I am also reading a series from the writer of the Animorphs books. It's called Everworld, and it is about the Old Gods of the word (Aztec, Norse, etc) creating their own world, and moving themselves and their worshipers to it. I've read the first book so far, where the boy's girlfriend gets sucked out of the reality they live in, our world, and into Everworld by Loki and his son, Fenrir. It's great so far, very interesting to read. Not at all what I expected when I grabbed the books from the thrift store!

Also, check out Christopher Moore's vampire books. Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck, they are great. The third books seems to be the least favourite, but it's there if you want to continue the story, but the first two are great and perfect without it. His other books are AMAZING. Check out A Dirty Job, which is a story that plays alongside Bloodsucking Fiends (one scene crosses over into both books and is told in each from the point of view of the main characters in the two stories) and also Fluke, which is about marine biology and whales (and the twist in the story is one you will NEVER suspect, it took me completely and utterly by surprise and is simply one of the best plot twists I have ever come across).

I also HIGHLY recommend these two! They're great! It really is like HP married Narnia, had a baby, and that baby grew up to be this book, but ends up being something you'd not expect from its parents. Some of the plot twists in the second book made me furious, which I liked because I didn't expect them at all (HP always felt a little bit predictable to me at times, so I like that these books take you on a ride).

The characters are great, too. They are the type where you're not entirely sure if you should love them or hate them, and I think in the end, you do a lot of both, with each one. They are very human, in that way.

Lol. Ivam the exact opposite pretty much. I have read the while series because I am a book junkie (read twilight series three times and really can't stand it) but I much prefer the show. The books feel very disjointed to me, like she will add pivotal characters and apparent life long friends randomly when she needs then for a story line.

Now, one of my all time favorite love stories is in the Anita Blake series but I have not been at all happy with the last 5 or so books:(. The Merry Gentry series is good too. They are both definitely adult.

Oooh and Sharon Shinn has some good books. Especially loved her series that started with Archangel. The second book wasn't as good I thought but I really liked the third
