Ok, so this is something more than likely a good number of you know about or do. But I figured someone might appreciate this idea! I know I wish I had stumbled upon it sooner.

I had such trouble not letting all the organ meat go to waste by either keeping it in the freezer in giant chunks and freezing and unfreezing and refreezing over and over or by just leaving it in the fridge too long because I overestimated how much I would use.

I also had a lot of trouble getting Traveler to eat the vegetable slop I made up for him.

So my brain actually turned on an worked for once and I figured out that cupcake pans have the perfect serving size for me and Traveler eats things that he is not a huge fan of frozen much more readily.

I make giant batches of ground up organs and ground up vegetables, freeze them overnight and then bring them in, get them a little wet on the bottom of the pans and pop out a perfectly frozen serving of organ or vegetables, throw them in a ziplock back and put them back in the freezer.

Now I have frozen organ and veggie cupcakes that don't stick together in the freezer and make my life so much easier.

Ice trays work pretty good for this too!

Awesome.

I don't feed veggies but i do the organ and use ice cube trays.

Last summer i picked up one of those baby food makers for $5 at a garage sale. It blends everything and then funnels that mixture into these little stackable pots. Come to find out later those baby food makers cost like $100 new

Oooooh! Gotta love garage finds! That sounds neat though, like it makes things a lot less messy than my version

I've finally got my freezer and REALLY want to steal this idea when we make the switch to raw. What all do you put in the veggie cakes?

I switch around each batch typically. But overall I try to get some of every color. So carrots, eggplant, green, yellow, red peppers, kale, spinach, dandelion, sweet potato, yams, yellow squash, banana, apple, jicama, radish.....yeah. So, not all of those are in my current one but I have at least one vegetable of each color so that hopefully there is a nice mixture of nutrients and vitamins.

Sawyer's the same way about only eating his organs when they're frozen. I'll have to try this when I go get my next big order! Usually I just save the giblets from the whole chickens I buy and have a special container...when it's full, he gets that for a meal. It's about the perfect serving size. But this is much more economical.

Good idea Linds. If I ever get an upright freezer I will have to start doing that.

I use ice cube trays, the veggies I use is whatever pulp I have left from our juicer (carrots, squash, greens etc.) . Make a big batch all at once. Baggie up a week's worth at a time and dump it in my deep freezer.
