There's lots from my line of work but today was just strange...

Izzie and I were picking up some new treats from our work today when a lady came in with a bully breed puppy. Izzie perked her ears and was like "hmmm, looks like fun" so I asked if her puppy was friendly and if he wanted to meet Izzie. She then proceeded to pick up her puppy and shove it's butt up to Izzie's nose. Like actually touching her schnozz. Izzie was of course offended so we left, she's too classy for such ridiculousness.

So anyone else have any stories?

I saw a lady pick up her poop with her bare hands in the park, her dog was a husky,it was a big sloppy poo,it was in the grass, there were lots of other dog owners she could have asked for a spare bag...but she just scooooppped it up,slammed it in the bin and wiped her hand on her top

Let their dog continue trying to maul mine even though I was standing between the two of them and obviously body-blocking the other dog from getting in my puppy's face...
then when I took my puppy to walk away said "He doesn't listen to you, huh?"

I still don't get that one.

EEEEEEEEEEEEW.

I've seen a SADLY huge amount of people who don't know how to use a poop bag. Like, they think they're supposed to pick up the poop and drop it in the bag. So you hand them a poop bag and they ask you for a plastic glove or a paper towel or something. Then they look at you like you're all magical when you put the bag on your hand, pick up the poop, and turn the bag inside out.

LOL oh my god - these are all great.

Umm... I don't have anything that funny, but at the dog park a few weeks ago, a lady wouldn't let Jackson drink her dogs water because it was BOTTLED water. Her dog only drinks bottled water as tap water causes cancer. And she would tell Jackson 'no, no' and kind of shoo him away if he tried to drink it.

Most people assume its perfectly acceptable for them to stick their faces in a strange dogs (a male gsd at that) and I'm always like "heeey now!! He doesn't know you!" And they want to be bitchy that if he's not friendly whys he in public and then I have.to give the speech about how one should never assume, we have the right to be here in public friendly or not you don't go up and screech in a dogs face.

Ugh

Well I can understand that...well, sort of. Parts of it. I don't let my dogs share their water with outside dogs simply because I REALLY don't want to deal with viral oral papillomas. But that has noting to do with bottled vs tap, just that my dogs don't share water with random dogs.

This isn't dog-related. At an exotic animal store where I used to live, there was a woman that always brought her Savannah Monitor into the store. She'd grab a shopping cart, place a large dog bed down into it, and bring out her lizard and push it around the store, talking to it. It wore a really nice gemstone-studded collar. She would coo at it and have conversations with it when she wasn't surrounded by people. Just like dog owners do.

I always pictured her in her home, the lizard next to her on its own couch and a bowl of bon-bons between them while they watch soap operas or something. She seemed like one of those types of dog owners, just, with a giant lizard, LOL.

I had a guy come to look at a puppy from my first litter who allowed all of the dogs and puppies to lick inside of his mouth. Like he opened his mouth wide for them to lick inside, so that he "didn't break protocol with anyone". He had spent time living with a wolf pack in some sort of research setting, so I suppose that is what they did with the wolves? It was still pretty weird to see...

That sounds like me with my old iguana.:rofl1: I'd paint his nails purple and made him a leopard print coat with pocket warmers so he wouldn't get cold on winter outings.

Wow... I've seen some interesting stuff, but recently I had somebody come up to me in a pet store and ask me, regarding Fleetwood, "Is he partially friendly?" ... Whaa?

And one time I saw a lady Alpha roll her dog, because he peed on the curb next to the grass, instead of on the grass.

Oh...My...GAWD :rofl1:

Usually I get annoying people who have no idea what they're talking about as opposed to weird people unfortunately.

I do tend to get some weird comments, but usually they just **** me off instead of striking me as weird. XD But I tend to be pretty touchy about my dogs.

This reminds me of one time when we were at the dog park with Violet, this lady kept giving Violet water. She didn't need any, I'd already given her some of mine, but the lady kept calling her over to her, and giving her water. But EVERY time, Violet would put her paw in the water, and knock it down. The water would pour out all over the ground, and all over her pants and I'd say "Oh, I'm sorry!" and she'd say "Oh, it's fine!" and then she'd fill it back up, and call Violet over to her, to give her some more water.... What the???
