The description alone is disgusting and heartbreaking. I hope there are protesters at their trials and they go away for a very long time.

Un****ingbelievable.

The least they could have done was find someone to feed them. To leave them in their cages, in their feces for 2 weeks would have been bad enough, but to starve them when there was food available?

Un****ingbelievable.

That is just so...sick. I can't even express what I'm feeling right now. I hope they rot.

That is horrible. I got nauseated just reading that. I don't dare watch the video. Those women deserve the max penalty they can get.

And here's when I wish the threefold law were more like the three HUNDRED fold law. :'(

It's truly disgusting isn't it... Happened local to me. I'm helping to care for five dogs who were trapped at PHP and they're starved more for attention than anything else. Sweet, loving animals, it breaks my heart that they were left in those horrible conditions. Here are the five we're taking care of:
Skinny Minnie... whose fecal was full of hair, so we're assuming she had to eat somebody to survive :(

Yoda, who seems to have demodex

"Momma Mo" who looks to be pregnant

Disco

Unfortunately it seems like the two women are going to get off with a misdemeanor which sickens me. To upgrade the charges to a felony there needs to be proof of torture. This seems like torture to me...

Logically, starvation on that scale qualifies as torture. I'm pretty sure if you did that to a human it would be called torture. Can they at least charge them separately for EACH AND EVERY animal?

Stretch is darling.

From my legal background, Lil, I would say yes, they can.

And most certainly SHOULD.

And forget to feed them while they're doing time.

And no toilet access.

Theoretically they can, I agree . . . but there always seems to be some reason why they don't. We're way out of my field of expertise here . . . I wonder if there's a limit on the charge stacking . . . or if they just never care enough to charge for each one.

They're only being charged for the animals that expire, from my understanding. I believe the count is currently at 42 misdemeanor charges.

I've never known any limit, Lil. I've seen some really imaginative and tall towers of stacked charges. It may be a matter of not wanting to bother with the paperwork. :(

Yeah, that's what I figured with animals. Nail someone for drugs and we can stack the charges to the ceiling. Starve animals to death and its too much paperwork.
