Just went out to "test" the smoker. Stupid igniter doesn't work. I changed the batter and everything. Just have to use a long lighter or something. It fired right up, at least. Plenty of propane and lots of wood. I should be all set. Turkey is in the brine in the downstairs fridge. Compared to 12 hours ago, I feel like a zillion bucks. Hopefully I'm over that.

Tree is decorated finally, too. Just need to do the wrapping and go purchase a new flavor injector at walmart (it's right behind me, so I can walk at least). Plus I need to hit Pet Valu for something for Xena (in the same shopping center).

I am working right now (crazy how many people are still buying dog stuff on Christmas Eve!) and then later tonight I am going to my Aunt's house for a family gathering. Not a dinner or anything, though I am sure there will be snack type food and what not, but just a get together with everyone before Christmas day. :)

The brownies have been baked. they are cooling and then we will decorate them. The cookies are pretty much done. the last batch in the oven has one minute left. all presents are wrapped. everything is ready. Now what am I going to do? LOL

I love every second of it :) I love having a messy christmas cookie kitchen lol

Nothing, really. Sitting around and waiting for somebody to stop by to pick up donations for the ferret rescue.

We're doing Christmas tomorrow, then I have Christmas with Chris' family on Boxing Day/Monday.

Nothing much. Hanging around the house, wrapping one more present, making an easy cake tonight for tomorrow. I may start unpacking our bag. We got home last night from out of town. I do need to run to the small store on the corner for a couple of ingredients for the cake.

Went to this guy's house to buy some hens. Got there, waited 10 minutes and he came out and said it was raining too hard to go out and he wanted me to come back later.

a) that's rude
b) it's just RAIN. You're a farmer and you live in Vancouver, what is wrong with you?

He had my number. I called beforehand to reaffirm our meeting time, no reply, I figured he was outside.

 WTF?

We went to the Mall of America at 8am--it's my nephew's birthday today, so every year we go there, do some last minute shopping, and then go on the rides at Nickelodeon Universe. It's 2pm and we just got home!

In a couple hours we're going to my aunt's house for dinner and games. That's been a Christmas Eve tradition ever since I can remember.

And then I get to go to work for a couple hours! Woohoo!

Spending the day relaxing at my in-laws. We have Christmas Eve service at 7:30 tonight, and the DH's grandparents do an open house for all the church and the extended family that's in town.

It's now 10.35am Christmas morning here.
Yesterday I worked until 2.30pm and then came home and collected presents for one grandma and spent the afternoon at her house. She has so many stories of past Christmases so it was really nice to chill out whilst she chatted.
I then came home and put on the roast pork. We usually have cold meats and salads for Christmas lunch (I was lazy and bought already cooked chicken and a ham), so I cooked the pork and made potato salad and a green mixed salad. Is it bad that I sampled everything multiple times... you know, just to make sure it was up to standard?

I feel asleep watching TV with the dogs at about 9.30pm.
I'm having my other grandmother over for Christmas lunch a bit later today. My parents and brothers are at my sisters about five hours away, so it'll be a very quiet day. But I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with grandma.
