If everything goes to plan 2012 will be the year of the puppy for me! I have been waiting since March this year for this puppy, and I may have to wait another six months, we'll see what happens over the next couple of months.

SUPER excited! I am getting a field bred English Springer Spaniel pup for dog sports :)

You NEED to share photos there...Springers are my absolute favourite puppies.

Thank the gods no way. Voluteering at an animal shelter keeps my puppy fever balanced, and with college and all I wont have one for a long time.

Now, I wouldn't mind adding another kind of furry addition, not next year, but sometime in the future.

While I would love too and have a deposit down, I am not. It would be highly detrimental to my current dogs and the new puppy. I also think it would be irresponsible to bring in a new puppy this coming year. We will be waiting till Judge has a title of some sort, PDI, PSA, SchH etc. and until LoLa has the basic titles down, CD, BH, RN. I would love to throw caution to the wind but I have to take into account my current dogs, my work schedule and training time. I would be cheating them to run out and get another puppy this year. I HATE being responsible sometimes.

I REALLY REALLY wish I could say for certain that I am.

My main problem is that I simply cannot decide if I want to add another small terrier, or wait until it's possible to have a larger breed.

Within a year, I could probably be able to add another small dog, depending on what kind of job I get, and how my school schedule works out.

But if I want to add a larger breed, it's ideally going to have to wait until I'm officially teaching in a steady job (and I'm at least 2 years off from completing my degree).

So I think it just kind of depends where my life takes me within the next year.

I would LOVE to have a puppy in 2012. I'm absolutely itching to get a lovely little yellow lab girl. I think I'd name her Ellie or Vanilla.

I'm too busy though. I mentioned it to my friend (boomers owner) that I wanted a puppy and his response was - "Are you f****** crazy?" LOL. Between dog sitting, work and my half dogs Boomer and McGruff... nope, no time. sob.

Even though it's not the best breeding practices.. Boomers' owners' brother is getting one of Boomers puppies in 2012. I am SUPER excited. I already told him that I'd be over at his house every day. o_o

Originally I was supposed to be adding a puppy in late summer/fall of 2012...then I kept Pig. So she shook things up a bit. She was supposed to start formal agility foundation classes this past October, but the program started late and none of the offered times fit into my schedule. The next session starts 12/29, but she has an appointment to be spayed on 1/13 so we won't be able to start agility classes for a few more months now. It actually works out in the end though. Since she'll be 9-10 months old, I'm getting rads of her hips and shoulders while she's under for the spay to make sure everything's good to go for sports.

So, my 2012 puppy will have to turn into my 2013 or beyond puppy. Pig will be my first foray into dog sports, so I want to see how far she wants to/can go before I add another puppy. How into it we get will actually help decide on what I'll be looking for in a third dog, seeing as I'm still not sure if I want another feisty, 100% for life dog or a mellow, hold down the couch goober.

Absolutely not. I have my hands full with my current girls. Realistically maybe in 3 or 4 years, but there is always a chance that I will not have another puppy whilst Abby is with me. It's just a wait and see game.

Oh how I wish. My next dog will be a collie pup or young adult and not for about two more years but I can't wait to see all the new pups here on Chaz to tide my over until then!

No puppy for me in 2012. I just got Savvy in June, so he's still a puppy. And Whim is only going to be 3, so two youngsters is enough for now.

Puppy training is probably one of my favorite dog related activities :) I can never understand how people dislike having a puppy!

No I'm not planning on it, but I know I'll have fosters. I am doing a lot of CU stuff with Eve, trying to get her better with other dogs, so perhaps one day I can consider adding a breeder pup. Not making any plans, though. I can't afford another dog.

I really, really wish (actually). Emma isn't even 2 yet and I'd LOVE to have another puppy. I love puppies.
This. Violet just turned one, and I feel really puppyless, even though 'technically' she's still a puppy. I.Love.Puppies.

But no, I won't be getting a puppy realistically for 3 or 4 years, probably more like 5. :(
