I was visiting on of my favorite gossip sights and came across this.

Duggers take pic of miscarried baby and display for memorial.
http://photos.tmz.com/galleries/duggar_memorial_photos#tab=most_recent&id=105263
Click links to picture page .

At first glance , i was like WTF??? Then I was all ~AHHHHHH DEAD BABY FEET~
Then it was all ~How the F..... could a mom snap pictures at a time like that~

Now i dont know how I feel . Such a touching message really but it creeps me out.

So what are you thoughts.

I don't necessarily think the photos are gross or anything... personally I would never do that, to me it's creepy. I imagine there are more folks who might take photos like that then we might know, since not everyone has their entire lives recorded on TV, LOL.

I think what's creepy/disgusting is the photos of a wide-smiling Duggar family all dressed in black on a TV talk(?) show, with pics of their dead sibling plastered around... not to mention the photo with the text "Michelle holding Jubilee's hand!" like we're supposed to be amazed that she's holding the hand of a dead fetus... I dunno, it all strikes me as half creepifying, and half disgust at reality television.

it's very sad but I can understand taking a photo. I don't know how I feel about plastering it all over for everyone to see but I can understand the photo itself.

I would be heartbroken, devestated, inconsolable but I can see wanting something to remember that baby even though he/she (?) was taken too soon.

I know Nancy has posted about families in her maternity ward that have had photos taken. it's the only physical thing they have from a child they never got to be with but always loved. I think everyone deals with grief differently. some need that "momento".

Yeah , after i think about it , I do think the picture is okay , but i do agree the plastered everywhere thing creeps me out.

I dunno maybe it has something to do with her , and my feeling she is exploiting her religion and kids for money. Like it was all "well i got to get all i can out of this one" horrid if you look at it that away. Maybe i am just cranky and need some chocolate. hahaha.

Well, it's all business, I guess to them? I mean, I would never ever in a million years want my personal life on TV for everyone to watch. That itself is kinda creepy/weird to me.

This.

What's taken me aback is that I'm finding myself feeling way more sympathetic toward the Sister Wives families. They don't seem to be trying to hide the not-so-perfect stuff, like talking openly about dealing with problems with their kids and problems their kids are dealing with or even their own doubts and and occasional fears and little jealousies.

I do seem to be loving the sister wives. Even though i feel it is they are secretly Bisexual . I dunno why , just do.
I love how honest they are with each other, and the kids are all included , even the one by another man .
The first wife is rockin and i wanna be her best friend ,Mari is her name i think.
ow i also wanna work out with them , i wish there gym was in new orleans. i woudl join.lol

I have taken many photos of deceased babies over the last several years. Most parents want to have the photos done. It may seem morbid to some.... but to some of those families, I think it's a way to have some closure as well as a memory. It's always a sad moment for me when I have to take those kind of photos. I think that photo the duggers did was a very tasteful photo and a way for them to express that although their child didn't make it, their child mattered. As far as plastering it all over the place... i have no idea about that. It would be a personal thing for me... i'd only share it with people that i was close with.

I don't think it is bad at all that they took pictures. I am sure I would want pictures too. And I don't think it was the mom taking them, I'm sure it was probably Ginger, since she is the photographer of the family, or maybe they had someone else take pictures for them.

Plastering them everywhere? Why because they are online, or because they put pictures up of their baby at her memorial service?

I don't see them as a "business" they have said many times that they feel it is more of a ministry. I think it is good that we have a good, Christian family willing to show their way of life, because everything else we see on TV shows is pretty much the opposite. If they were purposely doing it for business, I'm sure they would make up a bunch of drama just to up their ratings. But I have watched nearly every episode of their show and they don't seem like that at all. I just think people can't get over that there is a genuinely nice, Christian family willing to share their life with others.

I think it is kind of sad that the world is so messed up, that we can't even imagine there might actually be a happy family with a good marriage and house full of happy children.

I do agree with this.

by plastering I meant putting it online. I don't think I'd want to share the pictures with everyone but like I said... everyone grieves differently. But I hold no ill will for this family. They live their lives a lot differently than I do but that doesn't make them wrong or bad people.

i really agree with the last part of your post

I'm probably a lot less likely to take the Duggars at face value. I knew families like theirs and the public facade was exactly the same as what the Duggars are presenting to the world . . . and there was a whole lot of "other side" stuff.

Maybe they are the exceptions. Who knows.

Everyone has an "other side" that doesn't mean they aren't still truly happy. maybe they have arguments, they just dont' advertise those on TV. Theys till have some aspects of life that are private and maybe family disagreements is one of them.

If they are happy and paying their own way... more power to them.

I dont know , Michelle seems to put on . Like really bad fake acting. Maybe it is because i have never ever seen them mad. and you just cant go through life without getting mad at something , if you do then "In my experiance" you are popping nerve pills like candy. Maybe it is just the episode i have seen that are all happy about everything.

I have a large family and there is no way those kids are so happy and good all the time. NO WAY. i know there is heavy editing but come on. Maybe i just have issues.

And nancy , i thought about it and do agree on the pics now , but the first reaction this am was not a good one.

maybe i just need to get off the internet when i am feeling contrary.

This...though I will admit, I have never actually watched the show. I feel it is very exploitative of the children.

And yes, I dont think its healthy or fair to have that many children. The children do not get to be children and parented, the get to be almost parts of mini corporations. I guess maybe I just know too many children from big families how have major issues with it. Is there a "right" number, of course not...but I will say, my opinion is they have too many.

I know lots of only children who have issues with being an only child and I know people with one sibling to has issues with that. EVERYONE has issues with something in life.

The children seem to be growing up to be functional adult members of society so ... could be worse. if they were strung out welfare junkies abusing their kids I would agree

as for exploiting their kids... that could be said about any child on TV or in photographs etc etc.
